Some moments feel like they come full circle.

When I was 9 years old, my dad—an ENT surgeon—brought me into the operating room for the first time. I still remember how fascinated I was. That day sparked an interest in medicine that ultimately became my career.

This week, I got to do the same with my son Jakob.

He scrubbed in, watched closely, asked a million questions, and absolutely loved every minute of it. Seeing the OR through his eyes brought me right back to that first day with my own dad. He got to see the preparation, hard work and love for helping patients that goes into this profession.

Three generations. One very special tradition.

Where Jakob’s path takes him is entirely up to him—but getting to share a little piece of my world with him was something I’ll never forget. ❤️

For 20 years, he just lived with it.

Poor sleep.
Post-nasal drip -> nighttime cough
Constant congestion.

Back underwater. 🤿🌊

Ana is a dive instructor living in Cozumel who came to see me because difficulty equalizing her ears was interfering with something she loves — diving.

After evaluation, we treated her Eustachian tube dysfunction with Eustachian tube balloon dilation, along with treatment of her nasal obstruction.

Four weeks later, she sent me this from her first dive back. 🙌

For divers, persistent ear pressure or difficulty equalizing isn’t something you should simply keep forcing through. Sometimes there’s an underlying problem that can be identified and treated.

Seeing Ana comfortably equalizing and back underwater is the best part.

If ear pressure is keeping you from diving, get evaluated by an ENT familiar with dive medicine.

In South Florida, allergy season never stops.

For Allergy Awareness Month, I joined @krisandersontv and @constancejonestv on @nbc6 to discuss why so many people struggle with chronic congestion, sinus pressure, postnasal drip, headaches, poor sleep, and year-round “allergy” symptoms.

Humidity, mold, pollen, and dust create the perfect storm for chronic nasal inflammation here — but living congested all the time is NOT normal.

The good news: when you identify the root cause, you can breathe, sleep, and feel dramatically better.

Breathing well isn’t a luxury — it’s foundational to sleep quality, energy, cognitive performance, and long-term health. Chronic nasal obstruction and sinus inflammation are treatable, and restoring airflow can meaningfully improve quality of life.
