At @screenmusicprogram , I got to record my re-score of a scene from Dune with a live quartet. Engineered by the amazing @thebasementvicenza

Played by:
@terristore17
@roberto__sorgato
@eiling.musicexperience
@federicomotta_

With @robertomengoli_music translating and assisting, and all my friends showing up to support, I am so grateful for this opportunity. Ignore the bad conducting! I was so nervous!

Also many thanks to friends @____toast and @amiblami13 who helped me record the first version as proof of concept! I’m so lucky to have such an amazing community ❤️🎻

One of my proudest and most beloved moments is getting to play on @lucy_broom_ ‘s epic song “Butte County” with @freekeychoir . Her songwriting, her voice, her guitar playing and solo is absolutely stunning. This song and this community has been THE reason I am where I am today, and getting to finally nail down a bluegrass solo I’m proud of would not have happened without the push and encouragement from @supdsup Derek Sup, and the epic support and love from bay area music scene. I am so honored and humbled by the magic around me. Thank you @madelinetasquin for capturing this so I can have it forever.

Bring some noms if you want, but most importantly bring yourselves and if you’d like, a friend or ten! DM for address at Castle in the Sky!

Absolutely incredible trip to Belluno, Italy for the @screenmusicprogram ! It was such an honor to be around such talented and inspiring composers, writing music with the guidance of some of the best faculty and notable names in the field of film/tv, and a recording session with an amazingly talented quartet, all through the hard work of our hosts. With almost daily walking trips to town for gelato and spritz, barbecues and birthday celebrations, stargazing nights in the amphitheater til 2:30a counting shooting stars, thunderstorms and eclipse (that no one saw but we sure talked about 😹), singing Disney and showtunes on a badly out of tune piano, and a trip to Venice with the crew that included both mishaps and some alleyway adventures and a later solo trip where I got to chat with a Venetian violin maker for an hour and then watch Vivaldi performed at Vivaldi’s church, Chiesa Della Pierta - Santa Maria, I’d say my summer’s complete and my heart is full, with amazing new friends from around the world. by @arielwangmusic
