this Sunday we’ll be Meet(ing) at the Altar to do Sound Bowl!

✨ 🌱meet Stephani Akira 🌱✨

reigning from Jersey, Stephani Akira, is known for creative tranquil experiences. using sound bowls, aromatics and colors she focuses on bringing individuals to mental rest!

this is why she’ll be leading our Sound Bowl Healing session at Sol Sunday and we are SO excited for y’all to experience this!

sound bowl healing isn’t “woo woo.”

studies published through the National Institutes of Health have shown that singing bowl meditation can actually reduce anxiety, tension, and depression while improving your heart rate and blood pressure.

the vibrations literally shift your brain wave patterns. how cool is that?

this is one of four featured activities at Sol Sunday alongside guided reflection, intentional charm bracelet making, and art discussions — all within the sacred space of Meet Me At The Altar.

tbh i’m still a bit…speechless? seeing the community built around a show put together in less than two months? ugh. i’m so moved.

like i really produced a 20 artist show where Black, women, femme and queer folk could feel safe and seen. 😭😭

i really launched a book and an exhibit at the same time. my God.

all this while assisting in fundraising efforts for an organization i absolutely believe in.

while taking on a new role at my 9-5 😭😭

and it happened so beautifully because i have a community that rallies behind me. i genuinely prayed for this. this event alone is evidence of the growth my book, “Love, Grace” promotes and prompts.

i’ll leave the remainder of my thoughts for the other content but what i will say is amongst so many other great moments. these few are my most reflective.

1) seeing my resilience and pivot successfully in real time that resulted in a beautiful moment.
—- unexpectedly a portion of the show was shifted and for the integrity of the show i performed a poem instead. mind you, this was my second time performing a poem in front of about crowd ever. i made the decision immediately and performed it 40 mins later.
2) my siblings catching a video of me signing a book from a sweet soul i literally met that evening (heeeey @liya_monique1 , girl you made my whole year 🫶🏾 ) . she bought each of @prosperspectives ‘ products , the very first bundle purchaser!

3) both videos were recorded by people who love me, see me and support me so deeply. i feel it in the way they captured me.

ugh, what a successful event. thank you all so much for showing me so much love on this journey! sharing how this event has impacted you and seeing its benefits in real time.

i love every single post, video and story yall have made and posted.

i’m so so grateful!! and to believe we’re still just getting started!!

UPCOMING DATES:

✨sol sunday: february 15th, 12pm - 4pm✨ (link in bio, rsvp only)
✨closing exhibition: march 6th, 5pm - 8pm✨

i’m so excited to keep moving and grooving with yall!!

praying you’re well and warm!

Introduciiiiiing Stephanie Boateng!

Stephanie Boateng is a multidisciplinary artist creating vibrant, textured portraits that center joy, identity, and presence. Her work is known for smiling figures, bold materials, and playful details that invite viewers into moments of beauty and celebration. Through her practice, she explores happiness as both resistance and self-definition.

I create vibrant, textured portraits that center joy as a powerful and intentional act. Through smiling figures, bold materials, and playful details, my work challenges narratives that limit how Black women are seen and remembered. Each piece invites viewers to sit with happiness not as decoration, but as presence, agency, and self definition. My practice celebrates joy as something worthy of space, attention, and permanence.

Introduciiiiiing Tish Williams!

Tish Williams is a native of Wilmington, DE and received her BFA with a Sculpture concentration from the University of Delaware. Her work explores identity, relationships and the definition of “women’s work”. Tish also serves as a pastor in the United Methodist Church.

“My thoughts on gender and binary constructs have changed since I first started examining my place in the world. Now, not only am I looking at how others perceive those gender categories but also how we navigate through them.

The idea is to slightly twist domesticity, womanhood and relationship to evoke a reaction from the viewer that is both familiar and uneasy to produce a thought or memory recall. Working with fiber as material and a base of connotation, I emphasize concept and craft in my work. From wood or steel-based fiber work to surface, mass, containment, and performance, my work lives to make experiences.”
