At times, life imitates art.
Other times, art imitates life.
Sometimes, they can oppose each other too.
Reality can often be stranger than fiction.
The irony is never lost. The timing, is everything.
And in any and every case - the Truth, is all that matters.

my deepest gratitude to all who are watching HUNKKAAR, liking the show, or enjoying my small contribution to it.

In it, I play Amitabh Sinha - a journalist who dares to speak truth to power. The system punishes him for it. He faces the consequences.

But unlike a peddled narrative or an internet lynch-mob, the truth is not feeble. It never switches sides. It just exists, wherever it rests, quietly waiting for any and all who choose to turn their eye towards it.

It is greater than power. Greater than nation. Greater than the self. Greater than religion. It is most certainly greater than gender and all of it’s politics. And it is very much worth fighting for.

The fight will always be long. And very often, lonely. At times you’ll be fighting inexplicably ill-meaning sadists. At others, the misguided and self-righteous will be tearing you down. Sometimes, with just the right kind of kool-aid, even your very own will need to hear your defence.

It is worth remembering then, that you know something they don’t.
That you have TRUTH on your side. Truth, which exists for only ONE thing - to come out into the light. And it is not just a desire, hope or wish, but your RESPONSIBILITY to bring others into that light with you.

“Ek din toofan aata hai, aur inko jadh se ukhaadkar phaenk deta hai. Woh toofan main ho sakta hoon… Aap ho sakte hain… ”

Thank you for your time.

Thank you @kkapadias, @nityamehra19, @ashidua @heerazmarfatia for making me a part of this world.
Thank you @kabirtejpal and @ikavin for capturing Amitabh like you have.
Thank you @gopikagulwadi and @darshanyewalekar for making him look as good as you could, in what you had to work with.

And to the army of people that make an actor look good, the ones who enable him to perform on-set, and last but not least, the ones who sit in dark rooms, working to project that performance as effectively as possible.

There are 100 reasons to blame the accused, yet we keep finding ones to blame the survivor.
