Summertime Sanctuary follows the history & preservation of Fox Lake, a community in northeast Indiana populated by black residents and vacationers since the 1920s

This has been a longtime coming. We are LIVE on our Crowdfunding Campaign on @seedandspark we are looking to raise $60,000 in 60 days to start the interview portions of the production. This project is more important than ever to exist as parts of this history have faded from time but this film is looking to make a beautiful, poetic and unforgettable documentary. LINK IN THE BIO to the campaign site, your contributions and shares are highly appreciated! Let’s make history!

From our founder @arkel96 - It has been an immense privilege to have ran this business for 8 years. When I started SW Films, I wanted to push the boundaries with my visuals, storytelling and influence every time I put together a project. I’m happy to say the boundaries have been pushed every single one of these last 8 years and what’s to come next is truly spectacular feats and I can’t wait for you all to see this Cinematic Excellence! Thank you to all of the wonderful businesses, music artists, cast & crew for all of the beautiful projects you let SW Films hone in on. Upwards & Onwards til Infinity!

Gotta love the tribe we have along this ride! Wish we could relive every single frame in all the photos taken of this day and this week.

My groomsmen were the perfect people to have by my side for the week. Held me up every moment. None of them could dance (s/o Akers for holding them all up out there lmao)

Des and I will always be protected and supported with the love shown on our wedding day. 🤎💍💪🏾

My connection to this story and why I am directing it.

Summertime Sanctuary is my feature documentary on Fox Lake, Indiana’s first and only black resort that has been around since the 1920s.
This story means alot to me and I am the one tasked to bring this film to the world!

We have 52 days left for the crowdfunding campaign on @seedandspark 6% funded so far. Let’s make this happen!!
