Meet Kimberly Montesflores Gonzalez — Arlington Tech alum and recipient of the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship!

After graduating from Arlington Tech, Kimberly earned a $40,000 scholarship that opened the door to multiple summer internships at Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle. She has helped redesign parts of the Amazon website, including the Devices Compatibility Widget used by millions of customers.

What started as a high school passion for STEM has grown into real-world impact.

Visiting students from Swanson Middle School share their favorite moments from their tour of Arlington Tech at the Grace Hopper Center! They explored hands-on aviation, the forensics lab, and had fun checking out the animal sciences program and diverse course options. Hear firsthand what excited these future high schoolers the most about our career and technical education pathways.

MUS 121 Music Appreciation students were writing rhythms designed to tell a story, like program music does. Students created a repeating rhythm to represent a scenario and the class tried to identify the story from the pattern they heard.

I teach both music appreciation and statistics, and patterns are the glue that binds the two. In statistics, students look for patterns in data and use them to tell a story. In music, patterns in rhythm, melody, and dynamics can tell a story as well. by @arlingtontech
