What do you think of this Taiwanese local?😆🇹🇼

This is Mr. Shark (鯊魚先生) a popular, original Taiwanese intellectual property (IP) and cartoon character. Created by the Taiwanese illustrator Mr. Jiang (江先生)👾

During my visit in February 2026 there was an installation of it at the Keelung Cultural Center! This massive, soft-hued marine mascot has completely taken over the plaza, bringing major chill vibes to Taiwan’s rainy port city. 🌧️🌊

Locals and travelers alike are heading over to snap photos with this iconic shark before he swims away. What do you think of this art installation? 📸🦈🇹🇼

🎭 The Chair Queen: A street performer doing handstands on a towering stack of chairs. Pure adrenaline!

🐍 Pet Snakes: Because regular pets are too mainstream for this block.

🧧 Street Lottery: Buy a Gua Gua Le (刮刮樂) which translated to Scratch & Be Happy lottery ticket on the sidewalk and test your luck.

🥟 Stinky Tofu: You’ll smell it before you see it. Love it or hate it, it’s a rite of passage!

🧋 Flaming Bubble Tea: Brown sugar boba with a torched top that literally gets set on fire. 🔥

🚇 How to get to Ximending:

🚊 Metro: Take the Blue or Green line straight to Ximen Station.
