This past year has been a journey of pushing myself further than ever before🏃‍♂️

In November of last year, I ran my first-ever marathon, achieving my goal of finishing in just under 4 hours. God sent an unexpected blessing in the form of a stranger, Natala Mathebula, who joined me around the 30 km mark. He chose to sacrifice his own goal to help me reach mine. We were the last two runners to cross the finish line within 4 hours! It’s a reminder that God places people in our lives when we need them most. Life isn’t meant to be done alone.

After completing my studies, running my first marathon, and getting permanently employed, the cherry on top was running my first Ultra Marathon—Om die Dam 50 km—in March of this year. It was an amazing race, but I struggled a lot in the last 10 km, and forgetting my hat didn’t help in the heat🔥! Yet again, God sent someone to encourage me. Together, we motivated each other as we tackled a massive hill. Ultimately, I had to dig deep to endure when my legs felt like they couldn’t go on, but I pushed through and finished the race.🏅 Also met @gerda_steyn at the race, which was super cool🏆🌟

Fast forward to this November: I achieved my first sub-3:40 marathon with the help of a great group of runners I met halfway. Three weeks later, I broke my personal best in the half-marathon (1:34) and am on track to complete 1,800 km of running this year. It’s been a season of pushing limits, breaking PBs, and enduring challenges.

I’m incredibly thankful for everyone I’ve met along the way—my sister, family, and friends—for all your encouragement and support❤️

Every race holds its own story, from preparation to the finish line. Running has helped me keep my eyes on God, teaching me endurance not just for the race but for life itself. Through it all, I look to Jesus as my source.
Here’s to an even bigger and better 2025—onward and upward💫!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” - Heb. 12:1 by @armand.steyn18

✨ A year where one chapter ended, and another began! ✨
At the start of this year, I finally graduated! This journey has been a powerful testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness.
In my first year of university, I hit rock bottom—failing three modules, being excluded from the University, and struggling with my mental health and bad habits. It felt like my future was slipping away. But that same year, I made the most life-changing decision: I gave my life to Christ. Despite my failures, God kept the door open.
As I entered my second year, everything began to change. God was at work—restoring, healing, and empowering me. My average improved by nearly 20%, I passed all the modules I had failed, and I was even selected for the Golden Key Honour Society. I maintained that momentum for the rest of my degree.
But the challenges weren’t over. In my final year, I faced another setback—I didn’t complete my final year project, just as I’d secured a spot in a prestigious graduate program. I thought I’d lose everything. But when God opens a door, no one can shut it. The company showed me grace, allowing me to move to a part-time contract so I could finish my project. By God’s strength, I completed it with a 71% and returned to the company, where they offered me a permanent position!
Through every setback and breakthrough, God restored, sustained, and showed His unfailing faithfulness. I’m incredibly thankful:
	• To my dad, who stood by me every step of the way with guidance, support, and unending prayers.
	• To my family and friends, who lifted me up during the toughest times.
	• To my church, @crcchurch_, for helping me walk the path God has set for me.
	• To my homecell, for being a community of prayer and faith.
To everyone who has been part of this journey—named or unnamed—thank you for walking alongside me.
One thing I’ve learnt is that when you put your faith in the living God, you will never be disappointed. There is power in the name of Jesus, and today I stand as living proof of His grace and goodness.

To 2022 a year full of hope🌟, that's gonna be twice as good as the previous. Ready to do more, say yes and take every opportunity coming my way.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
