‘For Congo’ Round 4: A poetry and music fundraiser event for @letsacttogetherforcongo to supply disadvantaged children and family with urgent medical equipment in eastern Congo.

Think of this as your pre-world cup party, your cultural bank holiday weekend motive, your way of helping kids displaced in their own country by another country who went to through the same stuff 3 decades ago.

And yes, this is more than poetry, it is more than clicking your fingers, it’s an introduction to the culture if you don’t already know it, it’s us doing what we do best for a cause that concerns not only just us but the world.

‘For Congo’ Round 3: A poetry and music fundraiser event to raise money for @letsacttogetherforcongo for the children who require care and for the injured civilians in Eastern Congo.

Also this is a watchparty for the intercontinental World Cup playoff final. It’s the biggest game in 50 years for the DRC and they are 90 minutes away from qualifying for the biggest tournament in the world. You’ve seen the Lumumba tribute, you’ve seen the penalty win against Nigeria back in November now time for them to finish the job.

Ok let’s take it back and explain the history behind this

February 2024: I wrote part one of this piece before I knew the majority of you lot online or offline

August 2024: I performed/read this poem out loud in my childhood home in front of poets who the majority I didn’t know irl properly but have now become actual mates.

August 2025: I randomly see on social media that my mate from north west London met the individual this poem is about in USA. I then proceed to research her some more and I then come across her name and I was like ‘say less my g’

August 2025:72 hours after I saw her photo with my mate from north west london and after she performed at the same poetry event as her I write part 2 of this piece

October 2026: it’s black history month. Certain stuff happening back home (read the poem carefully) and it’s time to put this back on here to remind people about things.

Moral of the story: This world of poetry is much more wider and bigger than you think but you have to fun while doing jt. by @arnaudppoetry

It’s time for the next stage

Ask Kehlani- link in bio

This is the vibes that you should be on

Technically speaking @jjaacinta is part of our collective so this should make sense (especially if you came to the event in March)

Here’s another poem that I performed in London back in July 2024. This is just a summary of where I’m from and I just use poetry to communicate that.

Title of poem: they won’t hear this, surely not?

Event: some @crossword_lyric x @windowtothespirits collab if I remember clearly.

Additional information: North London is home for me. Islington is where jt started for me and the story will continue. Space age forever as well ❤️

I’m sharing this poem on here because I can and I feel like it’s an appropriate time to share it. Yes this was 9 years ago and yes I was 19 years old.

I should actually perform more poetry and perform this piece more often. Sometimes political, sometimes romantic but always honest by @arnaudppoetry

I performed poetry a few times
I co-hosted a workshop with my bro @duncan_the_sage
I hosted a fundrasier poetry event

It was quite productive to be honest.

More poetry performances

Go follow the poets and stuff that I’ve tagged in this post. They are the ones who are really doing their thing out here in the world fr 🙏🏾
