Three-Channel Video and Sound Installation
Exhibition Opening: Thursday September 3, 2026, 18:30
In the exhibition: “The Opposite of Now - Artistic Paths to a Different Present”
September 4, 2026 - January 10, 2027 @ Jewish Museum Berlin, Lindenstraße 9-14, 10969 Berlin
With: Yael Bartana, Andrea Büttner, Chto Delat International, Arnold Dreyblatt, William Forsythe, Dana Kavelina, Alexander Kluge, Daniel Laufer, Dor Zlekha Levy, Ari Benjamin Meyers, Alona Rodeh, Eran Schaerf.
 >>”reverse_time”: A three-channel video installation based on selected passages from the final, third section of Franz Rosenzweig’s major work, “The Star of Redemption” (1921). These texts offer a perspective on time as a relational, non-linear model in which past, present, and future interact dynamically. by @arnolddreyblatt

Programme #BerlinCarousel on 28 May
📍Akademie der Künste, Hanseatenweg

28.5., 7 pm, DE / EN
🎥 Stefan Römer, "ReCoding Everything, ReCoder of Life, ReCoder of Art", 2019–2026, 47 Min.
🎥 Muscha, "Decoder", 1984, 87 Min.

Film premiere: "ReCoding Everything"
With Valérie Renay, FM Einheit, Isabella Pedersen, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge
2026, 15.32 Min.
| Film, talks

🎫 7,50/5 €

🎥 "ReCoding Everything", 2026, 15:33 min.
"ReCoder" is a science fiction film set in the present day. In the third instalment of the "ReCoder" film series, the female prosumer "Reco" (derived from "recoding") engages in a non-linear discussion about (film) editing. "Reco" is played by the "Decoder" actors FM Einheit and Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, as well as the artists Valerie Renay and Isabella Pedersen.

"Reco" speaks in the words of Godard, Hitchcock, Vertov, Farocki, Diederichsen, Pantenburg, and others, staged in Godard’s "Studio d'Orphée" and against a backdrop of brutalist architecture in Berlin, Manila and Singapore. Reco seeks a contemporary cinematic ethic: is generative AI a new form of the collage/montage principle? What has become of the tradition of collage/montage?

The soundtrack by Stefan Römer was also released as "ReCoder SOUND" (Corvo records, Berlin 2022)

🎥 "Decoder", 1984, 87 min.
Armed with a cassette recorder, the "Decoder" (FM Einheit) roams urban areas, collecting and cutting up sounds in his studio. Muscha’s 1984 cult film is an early cyberpunk fantasy inspired by William S. Burroughs, who appears briefly. Its score and dark style made it a counterculture classic.

WORKSHOPS 26.–28.5. & 28.5.
Programm #BerlinKarussell
📍Akademie der Künste, Hanseatenweg

26.–28.5., 14–15.30 Uhr | DE

➡️ Partizipativer Workshop
freier Eintritt & ohne Anmeldung

28.5., 16–18.30 Uhr | DE/EN
"public exercises" von und mit Ulrike Grossarth

Im Zentrum der Übungsreihen steht der freigestellte, eigentlich "arbeitslose" Mensch, der sich seiner selbst jenseits gesellschaftlicher Strukturierungen bewusst wird. Ziel ist die Integration des "Anderen" und Unvorhersehbaren sowie das Ermöglichen transkultureller Erfahrungen und Praktiken. Themen sind u. a. Identität im Werden, Paradoxien, zirkuläre Systeme, spielerische Gesten des Politischen.

➡️ Bewegungsworkshop
