Sunday’s message had me thinking about what I really value.

Because eventually, my life tells the truth.

What I value gets my time.
My attention.
My commitment.

In Matthew 13:44–46, once the man recognized the value of what he found, everything else looked different.

That’s the part that challenged me.

If I really recognize the value of God’s Kingdom, it should change how I live.

So I had to ask myself:

What does my life say I value?

God knew exactly what He was doing when He blessed me with a little girl. I try to teach her to be strong, confident, and able to stand on her own. But the truth is, no matter how much I try to prepare her for this world, she has a way of making me softer every day. One hug, one smile, and I’m reminded that while I’m teaching her how to be strong, she’s teaching me a different kind of love.

There’s just something special about being her daddy. ❤️

Sunday’s message made me think about what I really value.

Jesus compared the Kingdom of God to finding hidden treasure. Once the man realized what he had found, everything else changed in value—and he responded with joy.

That stuck with me.

Maybe the question isn’t just, “What am I looking for?”

Maybe it’s, “Do I recognize the value of what Jesus is offering?”

Maybe the Kingdom is worth discovering for yourself.

Looking back, I can see God’s hand through all of it. At the time, I didn’t always understand what He was doing. I was just living, growing, learning, making mistakes, and moving forward.

Now I can see that none of it was wasted.

Every season was preparing me for something. And I’m still in the process.

Don’t get discouraged because it doesn’t look like much right now. Small doesn’t mean insignificant.

Keep growing. Keep moving. Keep trusting God.

Don’t sleep on small. 🌱

“The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree.” — Matthew 13:31–32

What starts small can grow progressively over time. Growth may not always be obvious, but that doesn’t mean nothing is happening.

Planted. Hidden. Growing. Stretching. Expanding.

What are you tempted to overlook because it looks small right now? 👇

Some things just aren’t ours to separate.

The servants saw the weeds growing with the wheat and asked if they should pull them up. The answer was no. Leave them alone and let them grow together until the harvest.

That hit me because sometimes we see something and immediately feel like we need to address it, expose it, fix it, or remove it. But just because God allowed me to see it doesn’t mean He told me to touch it.

Jesus said the reapers would handle the separation at harvest.

So maybe the lesson is simple: know your assignment. Everything you recognize isn’t yours to fix. Sometimes you have to leave it alone, keep growing, and let God handle what belongs to Him.

Keep growing.

You can’t always control what’s growing around you, but you can be intentional about what God is growing in you.

In Jesus’ parable, the wheat didn’t stop growing because weeds were in the same field. And neither should you.

Someone else’s choices don’t have to become your choices. Their dysfunction doesn’t have to become your distraction. Your environment doesn’t get the final say over who you become.

What grows around you doesn’t have to determine what grows in you.

The difference isn’t always obvious.

In Jesus’ parable, the wheat and the weeds were allowed to grow together because separating them too early could damage what was actually good.

That’s what stood out to me: everything isn’t revealed immediately. Some things take time, growth, and maturity before you can clearly see the difference.

So don’t become consumed with trying to figure everybody out. Pay attention to what God is growing in you. Stay rooted. Keep growing. Keep producing what God planted you to produce.

You don’t have to expose everything. Time and the harvest will reveal what you couldn’t see before.
