Bois cire, tuyaux d’orgue, clavier, trois modules sonores intégrés, détachables et modulables

Ça fait au moins dix ans que j’envisage de construire mon propre instrument halluciné.
Un objet-mémoire capable de loger toutes mes archives de secours sonores : celles apprises à l’orgue plus jeune, celles composées puis abandonnées, les mélodies reçues en rêve et dont, au réveil, il ne reste parfois que deux ou trois notes.

L’objet, toujours en étude, sera exposé et activé pour Invisibilia (for piano) au festival Underground @ccnrb.faire

🪽 MACKENZY BERGILE—INVITING NEW HUMANITIES
Over the past years, Mackenzy Bergile @aroundbergile has developed a singular artistic language that moves between dance, music, writing, and archival practice. His recent stage work Autothérapie unfolds as an excavation of embodied memory, tracing connections between Haiti, France, colonial and family histories, and the fragments that survive loss. In conversation with Corinna Humuza @corinnahza —Artistic Director of @kunstenfestivaldesarts —he reflects on art as a way of imagining forms of humanity that do not yet have a name, one that remains attentive to ruins while insisting on the possibility of becoming otherwise.

My next solo and exhibition IDENTITY IS A RUMOR, UNTIL DEATH WRITES IT DOWN is currently in development at Mackenzy Bergile Studio.

As a artist and designer, I develop each work from its earliest stages of research into spatial, textile and choreographic forms.

Every project develops through an ongoing dialogue with a dedicated team of collaborators whose knowledge, care and precision continually enrich the work.

IDENTITY IS A RUMOR, UNTIL DEATH WRITES IT DOWN is an evolving archival fund in which garments, patterns, medical records, correspondence, musical scores and genealogical research coexist within a single living archive.
