The Holy Monastery of Saint Neophytos the Recluse nestled in the hills, holds a rich history dating back to the 12th century. As you step into its peaceful courtyard, you’ll be greeted by stunning Byzantine frescoes, intricate carvings, and a tranquil atmosphere that invites reflection and awe.

After immersing ourselves in the spiritual ambiance of the monastery, we’ll head to the coast to explore the fascinating EDRO III Shipwreck. This iconic vessel ran aground near Peyia in 2011, and its remnants now rest on the rocky shoreline, serving as a captivating reminder of the power of the sea.

Here you can have a lunch at a nearby cafe. Picture yourself seated at a charming outdoor terrace, savoring the flavors of Cypriot cuisine while basking in the warm Mediterranean breeze.

To end our day trip on a high note, we venture into the enchanting Avakas Gorge. The path meanders through the gorge, revealing breathtaking landscapes, unique rock formations, and crystal-clear streams. Feel the coolness of the shade and listen to the soothing sounds of nature as you explore this hidden gem.

Important information: It is better to use the road to Avakas Gorge from the EDRO III Shipwreck, because the mountain path from Akamas Forest is quite dangerous and you’ll probably need a safari jeep.
