How much brokenness is needed for a city to become a source of inspiration?

How much pain, division, loss?

Sometimes when you live in it, you forget how things look from the outside.

You stop noticing the beauty in what you have normalised.

And this is where art plays its part.

It reminds you that a city can wear its scars unapologetically.

That a city may be divided by a line, yet connected by stories.

That a city may have experienced loss, yet still hold its contrasts beautifully.

I found art in the streets I once overlooked.

Art has shown me that the divide cannot break the connection.

As dear @souzie_a said, 'Walking Nicosia feels continuous. The street is blocked, the city is not.'

Massive thanks to our wonderful organisers @silviadecina @yarayfotos for seeing our city through inspirational eyes and bringing us together 💜 taken in Nicosia, Cyprus by @aroundnicosia

History isn't learned in a classroom.
Or in a museum.

It's in the streets.
In the buildings.
In the stories people carry with them. taken in Nicosia, Cyprus by @aroundnicosia

Nicosia - one of the oldest continuously inhabited capitals in Europe. 🇨🇾

Archaeological discoveries show that the city has been continuously inhabited for around 5,000 years, since the Chalcolithic period.

In times like these, walking through its streets reminds me how much our wider region has lived through. 🌍
Cities rise, fall, and rebuild - yet they endure for millennia. 🏛️✨

And its story continues…

So apparently this happened a couple of weeks ago and I strangely forgot about it.
