The Trench Comes Home. Speculative Cruise Runway Show For @burberry

Animated Film. Unreal Engine. 2026.

The trench coat comes home, and brings the London weather with it.

Burberry created the trench; film noir made it a staple. Staged on the Los Angeles River; a venue as cinematic as the films themselves, the show recreates iconic scenes from the noir era, where the coat first became an icon. Each set is a moment lifted from those films, so the runway becomes a walk through the trench’s own history, debuting it in a full spectrum of colors and materials. An engineered weather system lets fog hug the ground and rain spill down the models, the river itself draining it away , recreating the climate the coat was born in. It’s how the show says thank you to Los Angeles, and to the cinema that made the trench what it is.
