The joys of being a child in the 90s. I’m pretty sure I was addicted to dopamine and rainbows the moment I left the womb 😅

I’ve recently been doing some research into my inner child which I call my “creative DNA”. What I found is the things that brought me joy when I was 5 years old are still influencing my art to this very day.

‘Care Bears Vol II’, ‘Rainbow Bright and the Brook Measow Deer’ and the My Little Pony movie were very dear to me when I was little, almost to the point where this media altered the chemistry of my brain and possibly how I see the world around me.

If you’re ever feeling uninspired or in a rut with your art, I highly recommend looking back at the films, tv shows, books, stickers, stationary and even toys that you loved when you were 5 year old, before the world around you made you feel hopeless and tired. You might be surprised how all the small joys from your childhood are still influencing your taste to this very day 💘

When you’re burnt out but you still gotta be extra 💅🏻

I’ve been quite on here as I’ve been putting every ounce of my spare time and energy into prepping for my very first artist market as well as managing all my son’s therapies and everything that comes with raising a level 3 autistic/non speaking child.

It’s been a while since I’ve been this burnt out, but at least this time the burnout I’m experiencing feels fulfilling and it doesn’t feel like my energy is just being wasted into a void of misery (although I’m aware any type of burnout is problematic 😅).

For the past 3 years I have been putting everything I have into my life long dream of running an illustration business and now everything I have invested in my dream is finally about to pay off.
I’m so excited about this next chapter of my life and I have so much gratitude for every single person in my vicinity(whether it’s in person or online) who has given me their support. I can’t thank you enough ♥️
