squeezing another tree into this awfully hot summer… 🧊 I’m happy with how this 18x24” came together, right before I jump back into teaching a few camps at @artspacenc 🤩 by @arrtkid

In efforts to document my work properly, here are my five trees together. It’s quite interesting to look back at how these paintings from earlier this year differ from what I’ve produced recently 🌩️ acrylic on canvas 36 x 48” by @arrtkid

SHADOWS is a small works themed show, up now through October 31 at both @rebusworks and @birdlandraleigh gallery, curated by @vaeraleigh 🕯️
So many stand-out pieces and I’m grateful to be included!

Every culture, every person, every landscape knows shadow. September is its natural season, when the light grows long and golden, the world tilts toward darkness, and something in us turns reflective.

Hi Greensboro! Stop by the CVA to experience “Scaled Up” through Sept 20. An exhibition showcasing a range of oversized works, each measuring greater than 36x48 inches 🐛 Seeing it in person is a must and I’m happy I could be there to connect with the other artists taken in Center for Visual Artists by @arrtkid

I challenged myself to complete three connecting 16x20” paintings in a WEEK… which then stretched into a few months… and here they are now 🧬 still cleaning it up so don’t look too closely unless you really want to by @arrtkid

This exhibition pulls together works produced by Wake county art educators. Participating artists include some of my good friends and mentors, both new and from years past @artspacenc (I don’t have great pictures but you can see it on view through June 7)

An idea I find highlighted here is recognizing the efforts made by teaching artists towards maintaining their studio practice, balanced with the hard work, love and support that gets poured into the role of teaching

Feeling overwhelmed and grateful for progress made through my first year working with middle school, and excited to push forward on this journey

Did this small 11x14” absorb the intensity I’m carrying in this last push towards summer break? (yes) by @arrtkid
