While everyone is jumping on the latest health and fitness trends, there is one group that is completely overlooked: the women of our Punjabi community.

I love our local street gyms—they are incredible spaces for women to find community and take an hour out for themselves. But what is truly missing is education. Our moms and busy women don’t need intense, exhausting workouts. They are already burnt out. They are so used to suppressing their needs and putting themselves last. They want to feel better, but they simply don’t know where to start.

🌸 If you are a busy woman, a mom, or a daughter who watches her aging mother struggle with daily stiffness... this is your sign.

Give yourself permission to start small—or encourage your mom to do so. Our women finally have a safe space to learn how to care for their minds and bodies, completely in the comfort of their own language.

Yoga gently invites us to look beyond the body, beyond the noise of the mind, and remember who we truly are. Not merely a wave tossed by life’s circumstances, but the vast ocean itself.

Every breath, every practice, every moment of awareness brings us a little closer to that truth.

Happy International Yoga Day to all💙

“Who are you trying to impress with these backbends?”

No one, really.
Some days it’s not about performing, posting, or proving anything.

It’s just me, showing up again and again —
watching, learning, unlearning, implementing, growing.

Trying to understand my body, my mind, and this practice a little deeper each time. 🌀

I’ve been questioning the intention behind so many things lately.

Why do we distract ourselves?
Why do we avoid silence?
Why do we keep repeating certain patterns?

Not from judgment.
Just observation.

And maybe that’s where real growth begins.

What if moms gave themselves just 15 minutes? 🤍

Not a full workout. Not perfection.
Just gentle movement… breath… and coming back to their own body.

15 simple movements. From neck → shoulders → spine → hips → knees → feet.
Slow, intentional, joint by joint. Breath by breath.

Neck rolls → seated cat-cow → arm raises → side bends → twists → hip openers → toe curls → flex & point → ankle rotations → knee movements → malasana → child’s pose → shavasana.

And somewhere in between…
the stiffness softens, the mind quiets, and she remembers herself again.

Start small. Stay consistent.
15 minutes can shift more than you think.

The “Surya Namaskar” Reality Check ☀️
Surya Namaskar is often hailed as the “complete workout,” but if it’s the only thing you do, you’re missing out on vital movements your body needs.
Here is what you need to know to practice with more awareness and better results:

1. The History Might Surprise You
While deeply rooted in tradition, the Surya Namaskar sequence we practice today isn’t found in ancient Vedic scriptures like the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. It was popularized in the early 20th century by Bhavanrao Shrinivasrao Pant Pratinidhi (the Raja of Aundh).
He designed it as a physical culture tool to build strength and discipline among the masses. While powerful, it was never intended to be the entire scope of a yoga practice.

2. The Missing Planes of Motion
To keep your joints healthy, you must move through all three anatomical planes. Surya Namaskar stays almost entirely in one:
• Sagittal Plane (Frontal): Forward and backward movements (folding and arching).
• Frontal Plane (Lateral): Side-to-side movements (like Triangle Pose).
• Transverse Plane: Twisting and rotation (like Seated Spinal Twist).

3. Foundation: It Starts at the Feet
In Tadasana, move your awareness from the ground up. Distribute your weight evenly across all four corners of your feet. Engage your muscles to support your frame rather than “locking” your joints. Progress comes through consistency, not intensity.

4. Protect Your Knees (The “Micro-bend” Rule)
• In Padahastasana (Forward Fold): Don’t obsess over touching your forehead to your knees. Instead of pushing your knees back to straighten them, pull your kneecaps up to engage your thighs. Keep a micro-bend in the knees to protect the joint.

5. Breath is the Bridge
Do not hold your breath unless you are intentionally practicing Kumbhaka in Plank. If you can’t synchronize the movement with the breath yet, simply maintain a steady, natural pace. The moment you hold your breath, your muscles tense up—defeating the purpose of the flow.

Which of these tips surprised you most? Let’s chat in the comments! 👇

Stress is not just mental—it gets stored physically:
	•	Tight shoulders
	•	Jaw clenching
	•	Gut issues

Yoga releases this through:
	•	Stretching
	•	Strengthening
	•	Twisting (great for digestion + emotional release)

Modern stress is:
	•	Chronic (not temporary)
	•	Mental + emotional (not just physical)
	•	Overstimulated (too much input, no pause)

In today’s chaotic lifestyle, stress often comes from:
	•	Lack of routine
	•	Irregular sleep
	•	Screen addiction

Yoga brings structure:
	•	Even 10–20 minutes daily creates stability
	•	Gives you one thing in the day that is yours

That itself reduces internal chaos.

Yoga gives:
	•	Pause in a fast world
	•	Silence in a noisy mind
	•	Connection in a disconnected lifestyle

Hatha Yoga and stubbornness are related — but not how you think.

Hatha Yoga isn’t really a style.
It’s an umbrella —
the foundation from which many forms of yoga emerged.

And when we talk about stubbornness here,
it’s not in forcing the body.

Self-talk is Hatha Yoga.
Listening to your body is Hatha Yoga.

Overcoming distractions,
watching your internal dialogue,
and still choosing to stay present —
that is Hatha Yoga.

Not just the shapes you make on the mat,
but the relationship you build with your mind.

This is the practice that quietly transforms you.

“What kind of yoga does Diljit Dosanjh do?” Has to be the funniest question🌝🤭 Jaadi toona krde hone.

Don’t seek to borrow experience, as human beings, that is all we get to do, experience.

Seek and experience for yourself.
