Another WIP I don’t think I’m going to end up finishing, but I still like. I’ve been working on this one off and on for months (mostly off lol).

Incomplete WIP from a while ago 💫

Really tried to challenge myself with this one, and I kinda like it :)

This was super fun to make! The idea came to me randomly, and I love how it turned out.

This one was super difficult + took 6hrs... but I like it, esp the background.
Been trying to work on expressions

Realism practice 🖌

Saw this photo of @alissajanay and I really enjoyed the composition, so I gave it a whirl :)

Another gouache study 🖌

I'm trying to work on making the color transitions smoother, because it can get splotchy in some places, but otherwise I'm super pleased with the realism on this one!

👁🔍 the paintings v the pallette

Can you belive this is my second ever attempt at using gouache for portraiture? 🤗 I'm so proud!

What do you guys think?!

The last time I tried traditional painting was in high school (I'm going to be a college senior this year). I was using oil and, while fun, it was soooo hard!! In many ways, digital painting is much more forgiving because you can hit undo when you mess up, which isn't really the case with traditional painting.

But lately I've been SO much more confident with my art, and now that I've taken this leap into traditional painting, I'm in love! I still have a lot to learn, but this is an encouraging start :)
