It's been a while since I last posted. It's not a portrait, but I really wanted to introduce this piece so I'm posting it.

Toe, one of my favourite bands from my country, has released a new album.
To all of you who follow me and live overseas, please give it a listen.

Hey, guys. Today, I picked up a brush thinking that drawing this portrait would be a funeral.

Mr. Akira Tsuneoka, the drummer of hi standard, the band that made me love music and rock so much, hastily called me. There is a deep sadness among many music lovers in Japan today.

There are many Japanese men my age who grew up under the strong influence of Hi-STANDARD during their impressionable teenage years.

So now there are a lot of people who have strong feelings for them even if they don't listen to their music.

They retired at the height of their popularity and have recently revived. Member Ken Yokoyama said,

Quitting was easy, but starting again wasn't as easy as I imagined. That's why it took so long to restart. It's an honor to be able to do Hi-STANDARD again, and the other members are precious.

I often said that kind of nuance. It was reported as a happy event on TV, and music lovers all over Japan were delighted.

Not only the listeners, but the players as well. Their return was a blessing to many, as many musicians have grown up using them as role models.

That was one of the vitality of the current Japanese band music scene, and the atmosphere was full of happiness and energy.

No one expected such a tragedy to occur. The support of the Japanese rock scene is about to collapse now.

There is nothing sad like this. Tsune san Rest in peace. Thank you for the good music.

Mike Park（Skankin’Pickle,Bruce Lee Band）

When I was a teenager, a compilation album called misfits of SKa was released on his label and I listen to it almost every day. After that, there was a ska punk boom in Japan as well. His work and his music continue to influence the world. continues to influence the world.

He has been my hero all the time.
