After six unforgettable years, Roest is taking a moment of rest. A year to reflect and look back on so many beautiful memories.

What started as a late-night idea in Defoo Café Ghent grew into a festival where around 800 wonderful people came together each year to share music, atmosphere, and experiences. We could never have made this happen without the dedication, energy, and belief of an amazing crew, the enthusiasm and respect from all of you, and the many partners we had the pleasure of working with. For that, we are truly grateful 🫶

Over the past years, we organized Roest with just as much passion and drive every single time. That energy is still very much alive today. Admittedly, the last few years were not easy: we had to change locations, faced two years of heavy storms, and everything became significantly more expensive. But none of this held us back, because the commitment and love we put into it never faded.

We don’t see this as the end, but as a conscious pause. A moment to catch our breath, reflect, and create space for new ideas. Because one thing is certain: the drive to create, to connect, and to build something special is still as strong as ever.

Who knows what the future will bring… Maybe Roest will return in a new form, or new concepts will emerge under the same name. Time will tell, but our story is far from finished.

To all of you: thank you for the incredible trust, the yearly enthusiasm, the respect, and those amazing dance moves… year after year. You made Roest what it is today!
To everyone who has ever been part of Roest: thank you for creating something new together in the beautiful town of Torhout.

We definitely don’t see this as goodbye.
We’ll be back!
