Welcome to Geometry Lab ✨

Every Thursday, I’ll share practical tips, simple techniques and helpful solutions for anyone who wants to create geometric art with more confidence and precision.

Today’s question:

Why Your Circles Don’t Meet

If your circles almost meet—but not quite—the problem is usually not your drawing skills.

Before drawing the next circle:

• Check that the compass radius hasn’t changed.
• Place the needle exactly on the intersection.
• Keep the compass upright and avoid pressing too hard.

In geometric drawing, even a tiny shift grows with every new circle.

Save this tip for your next construction. Does this happen to you too?

Tuesday = color day.

Yesterday I explored a new geometric pattern. Today I’m experimenting with how a little color can completely change its depth.
And you don’t always need paint. Colored pencils and markers can create dimension too.

A little trick: instead of coloring the whole shape, try adding a thin line of color along just one side of each edge. Keep the opposite side lighter your eye will start reading the flat geometry as depth.
Same lines. A completely different feeling.
Would you try this with pencils or markers? #sacredgeometry #pattern #drawingart #drawwithme by @artanslo

Monday. New week, new pattern to explore. 🤍

It still amazes me how a few simple lines can unfold into an entire world, revealing shapes you couldn’t even imagine at the beginning.

Inspired by a beautiful construction from @samira.mian ❤️, whose work I always learn something new from. #sacredgeometry #islamicgeometry #geometryart #pattern #drawithme by @artanslo

Same pattern. Completely different result.

Nothing in the geometry has changed - only the areas I chose to highlight with color.

Our eyes naturally group similar colors and shapes together, so color can make one structure disappear while another suddenly comes forward.

Sometimes you don’t need a new pattern, you just need to see the same one differently.

Which version catches your eye first?☺️ #sacredgetry #illusion #geometryart #sacredartist #howtodrawing by @artanslo

The secret to perfect circles?
Not perfection - practice 🙏🙃

Everything complex begins with something simple.
A point. A line. A circle.
And from these simple forms, entire patterns begin to grow - just as they do in nature.
Once you start seeing geometry, you notice it everywhere. 🌿
That’s exactly where my new beginner course will start, from the very first point to more complex geometric forms, step by step.

Coming soon. 🤍

Sacred geometry is not simply about copying beautiful symbols.

It is about understanding how one form grows from another - how a circle creates new points, how those points become lines, and how a simple structure gradually transforms into a complex pattern.
Once you understand the construction, even the most intricate designs no longer feel impossible.
I’m currently creating an online Sacred Geometry course for beginners, with clear step-by-step video lessons - from the very first circle to a complete geometric artwork.

Sometimes I spend more time choosing the colors than actually painting.🙃

Does this happen to you too?

Lately, everything seems to be moving a little faster.
Today I closed the doors to a space that had been part of my life for the past 2.5 years. One project ended and suddenly, there’s more time for creativity and something new.🙏
Sometimes we need to stop holding on to what has already run its course, recognize the right moment, and let it go.
Do you find it easy to let go of old projects, or do you hold on until the very end?

This one started with a beautiful pattern from Stephanie June Ellis’s book @theartofprocess

Intuitive drawing is when you let go of rules and the idea of a “perfect” result, and simply allow your hand to guide you.
Without a plan.
For me, it’s also a wonderful exercise in creative freedom, visual intuition, and making decisions as you go, without trying to control every step in advance.
Do you ever draw without a plan and just see where it takes you? 😊@fabercastellglobal 💙. . #sacredgeometry #intuitiveart #onlinetutorial #drawing #intuitivedrawing by @artanslo

The Tree of Life was not always a tree 🌳 ⚛️

One of the things I find fascinating about the Sephirot is that in the Sefer Yetzirah, one of the earliest Jewish mystical texts, they are described not as ten circles arranged in the familiar Tree of Life diagram, but as ten sefirot and twenty-two Hebrew letters, together forming 32 paths of wisdom.

Even more beautiful is the description of the ten Sephirot as dimensions extending without limit: beginning and end, good and evil, above and below, east and west, north and south.

So the Tree of Life can be seen not simply as a symbol made of ten points, but as a map of relationships and directions a structure through which the infinite becomes ordered. ❤️. #sacredgeometry #geometryart #sefirottree #sefirot by @artanslo
