Shoot the Shadow Side 🎥
Here’s your weekly nudge to level up your lighting game. Position your key light off to the side or diagonally from your subject — it’s a simple shift, but the shadows it creates can transform your scene. Mood, depth, and dimension? All in the lighting.

In this clip, the only change is the lighting angle — but look at the impact it makes. Crazy how much difference that one tweak can bring, right?

📸 Shot on: Sony Alpha 7 III
🎨 Graded in: DaVinci Resolve
💡 Lighting: ZHIYUN X100 Pro
🎬 BTS captured on: Osmo Pocket 3

The Power of Light & Color Grading 🎥✨

Watch how the same scene transforms across three levels:

1️⃣ Room light (beginner)
2️⃣ 45° light at 5600K, 41% strength (amateur)
3️⃣ 45° light at 5600K + professional color grading

It’s not just about having a camera — it’s about how you shape light and what you do in post.

🎬 Tip 1: Position your key light at 45° for natural shadows and depth.
🎨 Tip 2: Use color grading not just for style — but to guide emotion.

Lighting + grading = cinematic magic.
