So excited to share my creepover bag designs! In my opinion the bags/purses Monster High characters come with are characters in and of themselves. They're the main accessory that comes with each ghoul and they show off each character’s distinct personality while telling a story of their own. Ex. Lagoona’s wave 1 bag literally doubles as a fish bowl and Twyla’s Garden Mysteries purse is a little haunted house! Sometimes I want to buy Monster high Doll just because they come with a really cool bag! Robecca’s bag combines a lot of different aspects of her character. Obviously steampunk was the main focus and you see that on the front of her bag where it's literally welded together. Then that's combined with softer elements (romantic victorian gothic aesthetic) like gear bows and lace adorning each side of the bag. Adding to both of those elements is her monster scaritage shown through Bandhani textile details around the lace, on her bag strap/handles and on the main pattern itself. I love having a handmade pattern mixed with a ghoul who is literally a machine! Eco punk Venus isn't buying a bag, she's making it! This creepover bag is meant to look like a venus flytrap plant that you can unzip the “mouth” to open, while still having some punk elements in there with studs on the handles. The whole thing is woven with biodegradable material courtesy of her plant friends as well as cloth patchwork from outfits she's worn before. The inside has a Lisa Frank vibe with psychedelic colors and some flowers from Venus’s brand guidelines. And to top it off Venus added some old pins/patches she found in one of her drawers…😉 Fierce mixed with cutesy is G3 Lagoona to a tee and her bag had to reflect that! I love how a lot of her purses are just little guys and this one was very inspired by her Day Out bag. This stylish anglerfish incorporates patterns found on South American hand bags to show off Lagoona’s scaritage and her bag strap is woven together using kelp/seaweed! She even got a little skullette zipper to help make sure she fits everything she needs into her bag for an impromptu creepover! #monsterhigh #monsterhighg3 #doll #animation #design by @artbisam

I recently had the INCREDIBLE honor of designing these 3 characters for Monster High's new series; The Forgotten Battle of the Bands!! 🥁🎸👁 I've been a Monster High fan and collector since 2010! I've read the books, watched the movies/webisodes, played the video games you name it. So to be able to help create these characters for a franchise I hold so dear has been nothing short of amazing! I’m so so sooo unbelievably grateful for this opportunity! But I DID NOT do this on my own. A huge thank you to my art director @brandonpikeart and the show's director @adamtoewsart for trusting me with these characters and helping me through the process. And a very special thanks to @guenettita our asset/lookdev lead and irl monster high character! She helped me nail down the girl character's fashion sense and made sure the 3 of them looked freaky fabulous as models. There's so many little details especially on the shoes she seriously did such a great job I can’t get enough of them omg! These guys would not be the same with you! I can't wait to post more concept work for these guys but I'll wait till all the episodes are out so I can talk about spoilers haha! The first episode of Monster High: The Forgotten Battle of the Bands has been released and I had the amazing honor of designing props AND characters for this project 😱 Seeing this series come together has been nothing short of amazing! Every single person who worked on this is absolutely incredible at what they do and I'm just so grateful to be able to work alongside them 🥺 It's also a huge technical achievement from @oddbotinc as they created this show using Unreal Engine and Metahuman! I really hope Oddbot posts bts videos like they’ve done previously because tbh I want to see more of the process! A HUGE thank you to my art director @brandonpikeart for bringing me onto this project and trusting me with these designs and characters. PLEASE go check out both Brandon’s and our amazing background artist @jiyea_an_ 's work, people are NOT READY to see the work they’ve done for this show omg! GO ART TEAM! Thank you to @adamtoewsart for being such an amazing director and guiding all of us on this journey! And thank you to Moises Gonzalez, Dominique Price and Sara Crowley for keeping this whole project together! Huge kudos to everyone else on the team, all of the incredibly talented 3D modelers/look dev artists, storyboard artists, 3D board artists, lighting/fx artists, 3D environment artists, rigging artists. I loved being able to take a peak into what everyone was doing on this project and how everyone’s work comes together to create this awesome show! I can’t wait for people to watch this series! It's bringing lore and drammaaa to G3, I mean they even talk about Hexiciah Steam of all characters in this first episode! I made this Gnarly Sauce prop I think a few days before the Gnarly MV came out so it was hilarious to see this song turn into a huge meme. If you look closely at the nutrition facts I put the KATSEYE symbols on there hehe. I also created some covers for a Fearbook prop and some Fearbook pages for the KATSEYE members to put their signatures on. I went on the wayback machine to look at the old layout of the Monster High website omgggg I miss it so so much! These pages are super inspired by it with ripped pages, different textures and bright colors. I also created some fan letters for the Boo Crew! I tried to emulate the personalities of the 3 characters from the G3 Nick show and crammed as many monster puns in there as possible lol! #monsterhigh #monsterhighg3 #propdesign #animation #artistsoninstagram #art by @artbisam

I listened to and watched that original Fright Song music video SO MUCH when I was growing up and I got to comb through that video for references when creating these new props for the Monster High x KATSEYE Fright Song Music Video!! Some of these references include the skeleton student, the Ghool Juice carton (I loved making a new packaging design for this), the mystery purple cafeteria food complete with fried chicken as a KATSEYE Gnarly nod, more cafeteria food also made to be a Gnarly reference (made these before the MV came out so there was a lot of sandwich imagery in the marketing), and the big green clock for the school playset/ G1 movies! Another Monster High project I got to work on was the new “Fright Song” for Monster High featuring KATSEYE! One of the main parts of this music video are the “energy code symbols” the ghouls use to light up the catacombs. These are the final designs that mesh together the MH Boo Crew symbols with the KATSEYE group’s own symbols. I also got to create Monster High diaries for all the KATSEYE members since any new character in Monster High needs their own diary! While some of the members were monsters that already had icons associated with them (Sea Monster/Manon, Vampire/Sophia, and Werewolf/Daniela) a few members were brand new monsters! So for Yoochae, Megan and Lara I created new monster symbols and new Skullettes for each character! I also got to do a beautiful render for a blank Monster High diary! For this last episode of Draculaura's Scary Sweet Birthday I made probably my favorite prop from this series which was the “Eye Scream Tower” XD complete with a little skull cherry on top! I also got to create the heart-shaped bouquet that Clawd gives to Draculaura at her surprise birthday party! I got to design a lot of food props for Episode 4 of Draculaura's Scary Sweet Birthday which makes sense since this episode mostly took place in a kitchen! I also made a huge binder with Draculaura’s cake recipe inside. And on top of that I got to make 2 more ICoffin designs yay!! This time for Spectra and Heath! For Episode 3 of Draculaura's Scary Sweet Birthday I got to do a ton of fun props! My favorite was definitely designing new ICoffins for Catty and Cupid! While Catty already has a G3 doll/phone Cupid currently doesn't. So I got to design one for her which I was soooo excited about because I adore her G3 design! Other props for this episode include a suitcase for Catty and Lagoona’s Fish Purse which came with her original doll back in 2010! For Episode 2 of Draculaura's Scary Sweet Birthday I got to do an awesome reference to G1 of Monster High with these room keys! Draclaura, Frankie and Clawdeen’s key are actually references to accessories that came with their “Sweet 1600” dolls from 2011 and are also used in the MH movie “Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love”. Cleo never got a doll in this line and Cupid didn't get a key but this doll line was where she was first introduced. So I was tasked with creating all new designs for those characters as well as making the old designs nice and shiny!
