The MXR distortion+. As I’ve learned more about pedals, I realized that I needed to pay homage to this circuit as well since this is really the beginning of op-amp distortion circuits as we know them today. The Distortion+ was used by tons of artists over the years, but it seems that Randy Rhodes had a particular fondness for this pedal so I drew it with his settings. #distortion #opamp #soundsofthe70s #crazytrain #ozzy by @artby.javi

The phase 90. I WAS going to say when I posted the dyna comp, that it might’ve been the most famous MXR pedal aside from the distortion+, but to be honest I think they do absolutely have a “most famous” pedal, and it’s neither of those two. It has to be this one. I mean who HASNT seen a phase 90? Everyone has used one by now, David Gilmour, Eddie VanHalen, Dave Grohl, the list just goes on forever. The MXR dyna comp. A true classic in the world of compressors, this was one of the first compressors in pedal form; before the dyna comp pretty much the only compression available was through the use of studio consoles.(iirc) Also have been meaning to show MXR some more love, so hopefully the next couple posts account for the serious deficit of other brands besides boss 😬 drawn with settings for Jambi 😉#compression #icanthearanything #whatwasthat #dynacomp #mxr #peewee by @artby.javi

Decided I needed to have some #green pedals on here, and chose the Boss PN-2! THE MKIII TONE BENDER!!! Now this thing is cool. If you want a vintage fuzz pedal thatll really rip your face off (that also preserves your bottom end), this is the one for you!! They simply don’t make pedals with this much personality these days

Boss GEB-7, drawn with @lobalorning settings from both 2010 and 2024. EQ pedals are slept on for sure, they’re not on enough peoples pedalboards for how much they can help you IMO. Yep, the ONLY distortion pedal that could ever possibly rival the DS-1 in terms of popularity, it’s the RAT. THIS THING RIPS, I actually much prefer it to the DS-1. About time I uploaded a tuning pedal!! This is (was) a nice affordable strobe tuner from the 90’s, the Peterson strobostomp. I own the 2023 version and it’s the best tuner I’ve ever used. Probably will draw that one at some point too #tunerpedal #strobostomp by @artby.javi

Boss CE-5 chorus. Probably one of the least revered boss chorus pedals, but (in my opinion) that’s only because they made so many of them. People never hype up affordable gear to the same degree as something that was made in a small batch but I digress. I think this thing sounds great and don’t see myself really wanting another chorus anytime soon. If you want a chorus to do more than this thing does I would say you probably wanna try a light flanger but that’s my own taste coming through. #bosschorus #pedalsketch by @artby.javi

Speaking of the same circuit different box, this is the Boss DS-2. Of course it has the added turbo feature but honestly does anyone use that mode? If you like mode II you should lead with that to see whether it makes your next date interesting. They’ll probably scoff and walk out but if they don’t? You guys could really build a beautiful life together
