“Pushing Boarders” a mock skate catalogue created as my final for Typography. The prompt for this project was to create a magazine and 5 skate decks for a skate conference fundraiser meant to raise money for youth in skateboarding. Creating this piece was incredibly fun- i enjoyed using printing, cut paper, and scanning methods which were inspired by Chris Ashworths work to create texture and depth.

Editorial illustration practice for the NYT article "For Some Singles, ‘Hobbyamory’ Has Replaced Hookups" by Sadiba Hasan. The article discusses how people are beginning to focus less on dating and romantic relationships and more on personal passions and hobbies.

My entree for the Fish’s Eddy x Pratt ComD dishware competition this past spring! The theme of the contest was “Everyday New York” and my designs pay homage to the hardworking felines across NYC who live in bodegas and storefronts. Bodegas cats work hard as pest control and greeters to all customers, they are an important part of NYC and communities all across the 5 boroughs!

Interactive poster I coded using p5.js as my final for Digital Prototyping. I was inspired by my fridge in my house growing up which has always been covered in magnets from places we traveled and photos of our loved ones. I used this inspiration to create a experimental self-portrait using the items on the fridge as a representation of myself by @artbyacavall

ProTEEN Magazine is my final project for Politics of Food. Inspired by early 2000s teen magazines, I created a mockup for a magazine focused around education youth about food and nutrition. The project acts as both an informative resource about protein and also provides information about misconceptions in diet culture about protein. by @artbyacavall

Poster design I made for the Allentown Art Festival design contest. I used inspiration from folk-style art and quilt design and really like the green flame homage to The Old Pink, a signature part of Allen Street. Although my design didn’t place I still had a lot of fun experimenting and creating this design! I can’t wait to enter again next year! by @artbyacavall

Kinetic Poster Triptych created for my Dynamic Imagery Class. The poster advertisement was inspired by the Riot Grrrl Manifesto written by Kathleen Hanna. I wanted to use inspiration from the Riot Grrrl movement of the 90s while incorporating modern elements surrounding womens rights issues. My final design acts as a subway advertisement for planned parenthood, encouraging women to take action and fight for their own autonomy and rights as well as a way to show the different forms of healthcare offered at planned parenthood. This was my first time working with After Effects but overall I really enjoyed working on this project.
