I started this panting months ago with a vague idea I wanted to convey but no photos or references on how to execute it particularly well. The painting itself is huge— 30x40” and represents the most ambitious thing I’ve attempted. I abandoned it and restarted many times, but now it’s time to close this chapter. I want to share everything even if I’m not totally happy with the outcome because it shows my development as an artist. “The Rebirth of Bacchus” is an Italian Renaissance-inspired acrylic painting on canvas with a queer perspective. #art #acrylicpainting #contemporaryart #lgbtqart #trans by @artbyamadeo

Was so happy to be able to surprise my @metrolosangeles colleagues today with a holiday card depicting my pitch for making the world’s longest light rail line longer. MUCH longer.

I recently went on a trip to Puerto Rico, where my father was born and raised and where much of his family still lives. I wanted to paint something for my grandparents, and decided on a memory of the boat they owned in the 1970s. 8x8” acrylic on board. This was also so special 💕

The secret’s out, so now I get to share this piece I painted for Sarah and Jorge’s wedding. Inspired by an engagement photo, it was so special to get to bring a bit of their love to life on paper.

It was such an honor to receive this commission for a painting inspired by #ISawTheTVGlow. At a time when trans people are under attack by the US government, we must refuse to accept the narrative that trans folks are doing anything but trying to live their lives. Everyone regardless of gender deserves respect, dignity, and freedom. And it’s important that we let art contribute to that freedom. Thank you, Jane Schoenbrun, (who I also just found out also went to BU at the same time I did!)
