a couple random pieces for school:)

slide 1: quick cup drawing with a watercolor background and highlights and shadows using black and white charcoal (practice for an ongoing long term assignment)

the rest are a series of portraits and paintings all using a different technique that was then made into a final collage. the purpose was not to be realistic, but rather utilize a series of varying artistic techniques which i’m still getting used to

slide 2 (non local colors/pointillism): a combination of two techniques, this was a super fast and fun painting, as it’s very simple and more abstract so less stressful

slide 3 (pointillism): pointillism is a type of technique where you let the viewers eyes do the work by layering values and making brush strokes without actually blending. the viewer’s eyes will naturally put everything together but mines very rushed and messy

slide 4: very blurry but this was 1/3 of my collages. i’m not too fond of any of the paintings, but it was good practice doing a piece that doesn’t have to be perfect or super realistic

HELLO this was a drawing done for school with a much different style than my usual, as it was my first time drawing off of my own reference photo which i’ll definitely start doing more often!! I quite enjoyed it, but this drawing nearly killed me, as I stayed up until 3 so I could get it done on time. As a result of this, I was not able to take a picture with it in good lighting before submitting so apologies for the lack of aesthetic:/ If I had more time there is so much I would go back and fix, as I see tons of mistakes and some parts are very rushed, but this class is forcing me to finish work quickly which is super good. Special thanks to my beautiful friend @addie.suraci for letting me use her hands as the subject of my piece🤩🤩

this was done with acrylic paints for my painting class at school. The goal was to match the colors of a reference photo of your choice. It’s definitely rushed considering I finished it at 12:00 am the night it was due. Regardless, if it’s not obvious, I could not for the life of me figure out how to create the vibrant pink of the gum balls. The background is also much too blue and dark, but I definitely learned a lot during this painting😁😁

finished my drawing of the beautiful @tashimrod !! She is absolutely perfect and I have more drawings of her planned for the future. This was initially supposed to be an easy practice drawing for a more significant drawing I had in mind, but it ended up being a lot more complicated than I’d originally expected. So many things went wrong—there are parts of this drawing I really hate and parts I really love. A bit of it felt very rushed and there’s a lot I would do different. The hair was the scariest part which is why I’d pushed this drawing back for so long—but I finally finished and learned a lot in the process!! Also—tashi has the most beautiful freckles but I was too intimidated to attempt to draw them. Have a beautiful day:))

the goddess herself... 🧎‍♀️I’m not terribly fond of this drawing due to the initial sketch. It was my first time doing a portrait with colored pencils and my second time using colored pencils at all. This is the only drawing I’ve done in the past year... I was exceptionally dubious to start the hair for, as stated, I had never done so prior.
