Top 100, I was selected!

What a beautiful way for me to end off the year. I’m so incredibly honoured to have my work, The Trails, selected as one of the Top 100 Emerging Artworks of 2025 by Arts to Hearts Project. My work will be published alongside 99 other inspiring pieces in a beautiful book celebrating emerging artists.

I’m feeling so grateful for this recognition and for the opportunity to be part of such a talented and supportive community. The year 2025 really stirred up my creativity and made me realize how art is so magical and healing.

After trying to post consistently in order to make the algorithm happy, I was pleased with the direction in which my account was going. More likes and comments mean a lot as I try to reach those who appreciate my art.

But I took a break from posting for a couple of weeks and my viewership went down. But the break felt so good!

When I created this abstract painting, what I didn’t expect was this…

It would be something that would give me a feeling of lightnesses, which I felt as a child. It would have the type of texture that drew me in and made me curious, like what I saw in nature. And that it would give me a space to breathe. All this reminded me of being by the ocean….taking time away from responsibilities, and deadlines. Just being…just like a child.

I looked at this abstract painting and thought I recognized something right away, but the longer I looked, the less certain I became. Then I realized, that’s the feeling behind this piece. Familiar shapes seem to show up for a second, and then seem to fade back. This piece definitely leaves room for curiosity, memory, and personal interpretation. Curious to know what you see.

Well that was an incredible feeling! Having my work sell immediately upon its presentation has happened to me twice. The first time was upon sharing here (I got DM’d right away by a collector who claimed it).

The second time was for this piece. Being at the exhibition reception and getting to meet the collector was so cool. Do I sound like a little girl? 😄. It was so nice hearing the collector tell me she loved the art, and that she really resonated with the title. Feedback is so nice to hear. If this one didn’t sell at the exhibition, I was planning on keeping it myself. I love the soft colours and the pop of orange.

Do you feel the title? I get the warm fuzzy feeling whenever I think of it.

Look carefully, among the big moments, are the little in-between ones. Those little moments will stay in our subconscious minds and, I think, will likely impact us more in the future than the big moments will.

Day 21 of the Sketchbook Challenge #dailysketchbookandrea. Mixing acrylic paint and including pieces from old palette paper. This one gives me Spring vibes.

Oh look! It’s me doing a reveal 😄. Thought it was about time! Here I am, the artist with her art. Have I passed the test? 😉

This is the biggest canvas I’ve done to date and I’m pretty proud of it. It’s inspired by nature with soft greens and blush tones. It brings in the light feeling of outdoors in. This piece is being exhibited at the Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival through November 23, 2025 at The Gathering Place downtown. It’s available at over 40% off during the exhibition, available for $350 framed with local pick up. For outside the city, please contact me for pricing on shipping. This lower price is being made available in order to make art more accessible for 1st time collectors and is only available through the duration of the festival.

My secret location was a 2 minute walk away from home, under the skytrain tracks. I sat on the grassy area with small wildflowers and let my mind wonder with stories I had made up.
