Käydään kattomassa uutta galleriatilaa Helsinkiin!

Julkaisin eilen avoimen näyttelyhaun, koska haluaisin perustaa Helsinkiin gallerian nimeltä Hima Galleria. Koen, että me kaivattaisiin, etenkin me nuoret taiteilijat, helposti lähestyttävämpiä ja saavutettavampia galleriatiloja katutasolle, joten haluaisin lähteä luomaan sellaisen meille.

Tältä tila näytti livenä! :) EIKÖ OOKKI SÖPÖ?! Sijainti krunassa.

Jos oman näyttelyn pitäminen kiinnostaa, käy tsekkaa edellinen postaus hakuohjeineen ja laita viestii. <3

Miksi toisten vihaamista normalisoidaan ja mihin vastakkainasettelu meidät vie?

Yhteiskuntatieteiden maisteriopintojen aikana pohdin kysymystä polarisaatiosta paljon. Vasta opintojeni jälkeen aloin uskoa Jumalaan. Koen, että usko tarjoaa minulle vastauksia suuriin ihmisyyttä koskeviin kysymyksiin tavalla, joka on muuttanut minua sisältä.

Mun uusimmalla youtube-videolla kerron siitä muutaman konkreettisen esimerkin kautta. Käy kuuntelemassa jos tää aihe kiinnostaa. 🤍

I created something a little different with and for my friend Pauliina. We used acrylic paint and continued the details with charcoal and a fixative spray. I definitely wanna play with a similar technique in the future too.

Collaboration matters so much in creative work. It inspires and makes creating lighter.

I've been working with my new manager for a while now, and I'll share more about her later. I still want to publicly thank every applicant for their interest in the position. <3

Tree

Acrylic on Canvas
40 x 50 cm
20 July 2026

"...I made this tree to be the commission piece of the boy and the apple tree, but this tree wasn't as much like an apple tree as the second try. I love to be a painter. Not just because painting is nice, but because it allows me to focus on the world from a different perspective.

When walking in nature this summer, I hyper focused on how apple trees work, grow and get older like never before. The shades of them, admiring God's creation. This tree came more straight from my head, before studying real apple trees with my eyes. Therefore it is just a tree. I do like it too though." by @artbysofiamalkamaki

Boy and the Apple Tree 💌

Acrylic on Canvas
40 x 50 cm
9 August 2026

"...I was finishing this piece outside in a park while we were singing J. Karjalainen with friends.

This piece was commissioned as a namesake artwork for my dear friend's newborn child – whose name is Väinö. J. Karjalainen has a song "Missä se Väinö on?" (which translates to "Where is Väinö?"), and it is the perfect soundtrack to match this painting.

This is actually the second piece I've made for this family. For their firstborn, I created a piece called "Reino," where the boy is wearing traditional Finnish Reino slippers. I want to give so much credit and love to this wonderful mother and friend. Not only has she brought these two beautiful boys into the world, but she also has the most heartwarming ideas that I have the absolute honor of bringing to life." 🍎 by @artbysofiamalkamaki

Wild Garden

Acrylic on Canvas
100 x 150 cm
14 July 2026

"...I've begun to look at nature to remember how to trust. The flowers don't strive or worry about tomorrow. They just grow, gently secure in the cycles of their Creator.

Whenever carrying the weight of life, of being an artist, an adult, or whatever I'm called to be, feels heavy, it comforts me deeply to recall that growth doesn't depend on my own strength. It depends on staying connected to the Source, Christ, the Father and the Holy Spirit.

I don't need to see into the distance, but rather focus on what is here and now. I want to trust that growth is inevitable when following the way forward, taking one step at a time." by @artbysofiamalkamaki
