In honor of @meowwolfhouston opening today, here’s a giant electromechanical instrument I designed for the exhibit!

The Metallophone has an array of 24 gongs of different pitches which are struck by solenoid powered mallets and lit by circular rings of colored light. Guests can interact with the instrument with the interface below and create mysterious melodic patterns that sync with the larger musical composition of the space.

This project was a blast to work on and a huge collaboration. I attribute its success to all my incredible coworkers that worked on it! taken in Meow Wolf Houston by @artbyzeve

It was a pleasure to creative direct the build of the Lonely Reef art car with my good friend @haydencarey_ for Burning Man 2024. Might make this one my daily driver.

Huge shoutout to @sweenzor and @stark_raven_fab for making the Lonely Reef happen.

Thank you to all the talented artists and fabricators that worked on this project!

Looking back on some of the best shots from me and Hayden’s multimedia installation ‘The Artifact of the Astral Valley’ that was shown at the Currents 2023 festival.

It was amazing to see so many people interact with the piece that we had developed for almost a full year.

I loved this project and learned a lot through it. The beast will live again.

Amorphous 1

Steel (welded, brushed, clear coat)
36” x 24”

Initially inspired by the shapes of the New Mexican landscape. As I worked on this piece, it developed a new meaning representing the self-imposed bounds to my creative process. It was great exploring a new medium on this one.

Oculus - Burning Man Install

I had the pleasure of building this piece by Tatiana Lupashina and @_philfree with an incredible team out on the playa. There were many ups and downs but I am so happy I was able to help contribute this piece to Burning Man.

This definitely won’t be my last project in BRC 😈 taken in Black Rock City by @artbyzeve
