If you follow you have seen that for the past few months I have been painting watercolors of my trip to southern France and Corsica. I thought I show a few pieces I painted after a bike trip to Normandy and Brittany in 2022. This beach painting with the French flag is from the seaside town of Dinard, in Brittany. Acrylic on paper.

Autumn is here and so is that orange sky.
I am happy that this piece went to a new owner a while ago.

A little sketch turned into something even more special!

My client loved the preliminary sketch of his dog so much that he asked me to turn it into a card. I gave the sketch a little touch-up and had it printed up just for him.

In addition to the larger watercolors I’m continuing with the smaller postcard format, this small watercolor and ink postcard depicts Giacometti’s larger than life sculptures at the Fondation Maeght in St Paul de Vence. I love this one in particular for the movement displayed in its walking pose.

Invasion is now available at Borelli’s Chestnut Hill Gallery.

This original painting was featured as a reproduction in a climate change exhibition at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. I’m excited to now offer the original work through Borelli’s Chestnut Hill Gallery.

St. Florent is a fairly quiet little seaside town in the north of Corsica. You can see it from the Plage de la Roya, seen here with the straw umbrellas.

Off the southern coast are the Îles de Lavezzi, a chain of rocky islands that look like they were carved by a sculptor.

Two interpretations of the same scene: a view of the Baou de Provence. “Baou” is a local Provençal word referring to the exposed rocky hilltops found throughout the region.

The second watercolor is on Canson cold press paper, 300gsm
Daniel Smith watercolors and the first on Stonehenge cold press paper, 600gsm
