Elisabetta Di Maggio employs a surgical scalpel on an endless variety of materials, from tissue paper and leaves to soap, porcelain, and plastered walls. The artist highlights the close connections between patterns, circuits, grids, structures, and networks belonging to different contexts, all of which are inseparable from our existence. Her practice is a metaphorical reflection on the human condition.

🎬 ARTECINEMA 2026

Si inaugura oggi a Napoli la 31ª edizione di Artecinema, il Festival internazionale di film sull’arte contemporanea, in programma dall’8 all’11 ottobre tra il Teatro San Carlo e il Teatro Augusteo.

La rassegna propone quattro giorni di film, incontri e approfondimenti dedicati all’arte contemporanea, all’architettura, al design e alla fotografia.

Attraverso sensibilità e linguaggi differenti, il programma affronta alcune delle questioni più pressanti della contemporaneità: la crisi ambientale, le migrazioni, gli abusi di potere, le profonde trasformazioni della società e il persistente mancato riconoscimento delle donne nella storia dell’arte.

Particolare attenzione è dedicata alle figure femminili protagoniste della cultura contemporanea, di cui emerge la complessità, la forza e l’originalità della ricerca.

Il museo Madre – Fondazione Donnaregina per le arti contemporanee sostiene la rassegna con il proprio matronato, confermando il proprio impegno nella promozione e diffusione dei linguaggi dell’arte contemporanea.

“I think my segmented work comes from there – the line, the points. A line is made of points, extending to infinity.” – Anna Maria Maiolino

For Anna, the horizon is both a boundary and an infinite point of possibility – a fundamental element of artistic language. She describes a line as a collection of points, stretching outward and connecting what we see with what we imagine.

Anna grew up in Scalea, the small seaside town in southern Italy, and there, the meeting of land and sea became an enduring image, a line that marks a border.

“ANNA — And the Infinite Line” is a Forgotten Her Story original production, directed by Clara Peltier, and will be premiering at @artecinema on Thursday in Naples.
