2025 marks five incredible years of Artful! 🎉 Since our very first Artful Jaunt in September 2020, we’ve curated and led nearly thirty unforgettable journeys across the globe - bringing groups special access within museums, artist studios, private collections, galleries, and art fairs. Along the way, we’ve shared countless memorable meals and meaningful conversations, and developed lasting connections. We’re thrilled to see what the next five years will bring.

This summer, we’ll be sharing highlights from our favorite jaunts while also shining a light on the two other pillars of our work: Artful Advisory and Artful Impact.

To our clients, partners, and supporters - thank you. Your enthusiasm and trust have made every step of this journey possible. We can’t wait to share more about who we are and what’s next over the coming months.

What is Artful Impact? The Artful Impact Fund, created by Artful Jaunts and administered by the Boston Foundation, was founded to champion artists, fund public art, support arts education, and drive social change through creativity. Art can be more than beautiful — it can be impactful. 🌍🖌️

Fueled by an initial gift from our founder and sustained by a portion of profits from Artful Jaunts LLC, we’ve proudly donated to over 40 non-profits in the past 5 years.

🤝 Ongoing partners we’re proud to support:

Educating art lovers about modern and contemporary artists through studio visits, VIP art fair access, and guided museum and gallery visits has always been a central focus of each Artful Jaunt. This quickly led to Artful launching an additional service: Artful Advisory. 🔎

Artful Advisory is a comprehensive consultancy that guides each client, whether new or seasoned, through every aspect of acquiring exquisite works of art to love, live with, and invest in.

Through informed advice, hands-on service, and special access, we identify and recommend artists that speak to the collectors’ interests and philosophies. Artful Advisory arranges gallery visits, guides clients through art fairs, coordinates shipping, supervises installation, provides valuations, and manages collections. We are present during every step of the collecting process.

Field notes from Venice with Artful’s Experience Director @kat.adele

Peggy Guggenheim arrived in 1948 and stayed for the rest of her life. The palazzo she lived in on the Grand Canal is still the collection she built, and we had it to ourselves one evening after closing, welcomed by her granddaughter, Karole Vail.

A few streets away, the Belgian collector Laurent Asscher has done the same thing in his own century. His space, AMA, is showing “Aura.”

Countries have been building pavilions in the Giardini since 1895, and walking between them is the closest thing art has to a world’s fair. taken in Venice, Italy by @artful.jaunts

Artful’s Experience Director @giselagueiros was at the @whitneymuseum this week for the press preview of Roy Lichtenstein: Like New, curated by Meg Onli with the artist Alex da Corte.

Director Scott Rothkopf spoke about who it was built for. Since the Whitney made admission free for visitors 25 and under, the average age of its audience has dropped, and this show was shaped with that younger public in mind.

Which suits Lichtenstein. He moved comic books and commercial printing into the museum in the 196os, and long before the digital age he understood that images are never stable. They travel, they transform, they come back made new.

Even the shop is in on it, with a collaboration with GAP (see last slide!)

The Walker Art Center started in a living room.

In 1879, a Minneapolis lumber baron named T. B. Walker opened his house on Hennepin Avenue so the public could see what he had been collecting. It was the first public art gallery west of the Mississippi. He later offered the whole collection to the City of Minneapolis, and the city turned it down.

What rescued it was the Depression. In 1939 the WPA’s Federal Art Project took the gallery on and made it the largest community art center in the country. It reopened in January 1940 under a new name, with “Center” chosen over “Gallery” to signal that anyone could walk in.

That instinct is still the best thing about the place. The Sculpture Garden opened in 1988 and remains free, eleven acres where world-class work sits out in the open for anyone walking past.

Artful’s Registrar, Abi Herman (@abi_herman99), spent this past weekend at The Armory Show.

Now in its 32nd edition, the fair filled the Javits Center with around 230 galleries from more than 30 countries. It has opened New York’s fall art season since 1994, though this year it shifted later in the month, which gave the whole week a different rhythm.

Under director Kyla McMillan, the 2026 edition leaned into an international range. Focus, curated by María Elena Ortiz, traced histories of movement and exchange through the Caribbean. Presents, the section given over to younger galleries, expanded to roughly 55 participants.

Nine works Abi kept coming back to:

Artful’s Experience Director @giselaguerios recently had the pleasure of viewing one of the Met’s upcoming shows, which promises to be one of this Fall’s blockbuster exhibits.

Krasner and Pollock: Past Continuous follows the work of husband-wife duo Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock, examining their profound effect on mid-20th century art as revolutionaries of abstraction. Featuring over 120 works, this exhibition is the first major New York presentation devoted to either artist in more than 20 years and the very first exhibition to look at the couple’s complete professional trajectory in tandem.

Borrowing its subtitle from a 1976 painting by Krasner, the exhibition maps the two artists’ lives as they intertwined, from the moment of their meeting to Pollock’s untimely death and to Krasner’s career beyond as his memory lived through her. An expert presentation of two giants in the history of art, see how the distinct yet interconnected works of Krasner and Pollock continue to inspire future generations.

Most presidential libraries are not places you visit for the art. Of the thirteen in the country, only one has a significant commission: a mural Thomas Hart Benton painted for the Truman Library in 1961.

The Obama Presidential Center, which opened this summer in Chicago, has twenty-eight, curated by Virginia Shore with the Obamas involved in choosing the artists themselves. Mark Bradford, Julie Mehretu, Jenny Holzer, Kiki Smith, Carrie Mae Weems, and Lorna Simpson are all here, alongside Chicago artists including Theaster Gates, Richard Hunt, and Norman Teague.

What makes it unusual is that the works were commissioned for specific spots in a building still being designed, so the art was planned into the rooms rather than chosen afterward to fill them.

Tobias and Kristin visited last month. Most of the collection sits in free public areas, which makes it one of the more generous places to see contemporary art in the country. taken in Obama Presidential Center by @artful.jaunts

Torkwase Dyson learned to dive, and these are the paintings that came back with her.

Seeing in Blue, at @pacegallery on West 25th, is a new series drawn from the artist’s expeditions as a deep-sea diver. Using haptic memory, diagrammatic drawings, engineering notes, photo journals, and poems written underwater, Dyson combines and concentrates these sources into paintings capturing what the artist calls “the boundless state change of water.” The artist has spent years treating water as a geography, tied to architecture, infrastructure, and the movement of Black bodies through given environment and space. Here she brings that to an intimate scale, with the glowing light and distance of a place most of us will never see.

On through October 24.

Ana Segovia’s (@ana.sgv) first solo show at kurimanzutto New York (@kurimanzutto) sets new paintings against archival footage made by a United States office in the 1940s, part of the Good Neighbor Policy, to strengthen ties with Latin America through cultural exchange, proliferating images of Latin American archetypes that continue to shape perceptions of the region to this day, however steeped in myth. The gaucho was one of them.

Segovia paints him in parts. An orange hat brim. A teal poncho. A saddle and a strip of sheepskin. Everything that identifies the figure is there except the face. You walk around the canvas rather than up to it, and the film keeps running behind you.

“The Office of Inter-American Affairs Presents” is on through October 17.

How much of what you perceive is shaped by costume?

We asked @giselagueiros where she goes in São Paulo. A native herself, she’s spent her career in New York and still calls São Paulo her favorite city in the world.

An art historian and a former Guggenheim educator, Gueiros has organized more than thirty independent exhibitions and guides for us in Brazil.

Galleries, museums, the restaurants worth building a day around, and the places that don’t turn up on a list of things to do in São Paulo. Casa de Vidro. Casa de Francisca. The Mercado Municipal.

Save it for your next trip, or for the Bienal. taken in São Paulo by @artful.jaunts
