October 16 is recognized as #WorldSpineDay, to bring awareness of spinal health and the importance of physical activity worldwide.

#ArthrexSpine is focused on minimizing soft-tissue damage through ultra-minimally invasive endoscopic treatments supported by advanced instrumentation and unparalleled surgical skills training, all aimed at motion preservation.

We’ve been thinking about a simple question we ask surgeons: What do your patients want to get back to? The answers are often the everyday things such as running, playing a round of golf, or walking the dog without pain. It’s a good reminder that spine surgery isn’t just about a procedure. It’s about helping people get back to their lives and the things they enjoy.

We’re grateful to the surgeons who share that goal and continue to push the field of endoscopic spine surgery forward.

New clinical evidence reports encouraging outcomes with the Arthrex minimally invasive FiberTak® Achilles SpeedBridge™ repair implant system for insertional Achilles pathology.

Although the traditional open approach has been the standard for many years, minimally invasive techniques for insertional Achilles have gained popularity as surgeons seek to reduce wound complications associated with this anatomy. Some surgeons have chosen to perform indirect procedures without directly addressing the insertional pathology to provide higher-risk patients a minimally invasive option.

The Arthrex MIS FiberTak Achilles SpeedBridge technique allows surgeons to debride bony and soft-tissue pathology and repair the Achilles tendon to bone through a minimally invasive approach. This technique combines the best of both worlds. These studies reported encouraging functional outcomes, low wound complication rates, and favorable postoperative pain results compared with open procedures with or without arthroscopy and the addition of immediate postoperative weight-bearing. New from Arthrex Spine: percutaneous compression screws for pars fracture fixation.

As the only fully threaded, hydroxyapatite (HA)-coated compression screws on the market with a specific indication for pars fracture repair in adult and adolescent patients (12 years of age and older), these implants are designed to deliver compression across the fracture site while helping preserve the native motion segment.

When restoring anatomy and preserving motion are priorities, having implants and instrumentation designed for the approach matters. The system combines specialized compression screws, drill guides, and compatible instrumentation to support percutaneous, motion-preserving fixation in appropriately selected patients.

The TightRope® PRO implant is the next-generation solution for the treatment of syndesmotic injuries. The new system leverages the clinically proven knotless construct[1] that has been trusted in the most demanding patients and combines it with a low-profile implant. The improved implant allows for a smaller drill tunnel, providing a more minimally invasive technique and enhanced intraoperative flexibility. The updated market-leading inserter eliminates extra surgical steps and increases reproducibility.

“I feel better than I did before.” – @danemoehler

What could have been a career-changing elbow injury didn’t keep @clemsonbaseball pitcher Dane Moehler off the mound. Timothy Griffith, MD, performed a hybrid UCL reconstruction augmented with the InternalBrace™ technique to help Dane return to doing what he loves.

Now back on the field, Dane says, “It feels like I have a brand new arm.” 💪

The InternalBrace surgical technique is intended only to augment the primary repair/reconstruction by expanding the area of tissue approximation during the healing period and is not intended as a replacement for the native ligament. The InternalBrace technique is for use during soft tissue-to-bone fixation procedures and is not cleared for bone-to-bone fixation. by @arthrexmeded

Recently, Arthrex Spine hosted our first Endoscopic Approaches to Spine LATAM courses, marking an important milestone for spine medical education in the region.

22 spine surgeons from Brazil participated in didactic sessions and hands-on training in the ArthroLab™, gaining direct exposure to Arthrex spine innovation.

While these were our first LATAM spine courses at Arthrex global headquarters in Naples, Florida, more than 60 surgeries have already been performed in Brazil using our systems, providing a strong foundation as we continue to expand education and clinical adoption throughout the region.

Arthrex Medical Education continues to support the training of spine surgeons across Latin America.
