Still Alive, just been doing some physical paintings.

This one is the Garden of Eden before the apple incident. Just everyone being glad in each other's presence and vibing. (I haven't finished painting as you can see, yes Eve looks rough rn but that's just the first layer of paint, I'm wanting her to have a rich dark skin tone so we doing LAYERS)

Anywho, watercolor is always an experience, doing another painting in acrylic, might post that later.

First painting of the year, WOOOO!!!!! haven't posted a Jesus painting since Easter, still need to finish that one too. Anywho, yeah got inspired to paint this one, wanted some nice clouds and real baroque esc feeling. Thought it'd be cool if the crown of thorns grew leaves in his glory so it looked like a Laurel of authority. Oh also you might be wondering "why the big red orb", so here's the ✨concept✨

Basically big book says home boy Jesus shed his blood for all our sins right? And his blood is supposed to cover all the sins done before him, during him, and after his death. Assumedly that have been and could be done. There's a lot of ppl in the world at any given time, let alone ALL of time. So the ✨concept✨ is that he's got enough blood to cover the sins of the world multiple times over, hence why the massive orb of blood is greater than the earth

Also it aesthetically balances very nicely.

Ooh and the back markings are scars from when he was scourged. Yeah I googled what different scars looked like to get good reference, then realized I ain't built for those visuals so I just depicted them my own way, sorry twin 😭😞✊🏾

Anywho, I'm still editing music to the speedpaint for this so I'll release that at a later date but HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Id and Ego

Some more vent art of the past. This one focusing on the internal dialogue of myself. Id and Ego,

Id speaks of what I feel, the blunt honesty of "I'm sad. I'm angry. I'm hurt. They don't love me, they don't care, I want this. I don't want this". He is the first who arrives and speaks without reservation about what is seen, but speaks on what is felt and it's result.

Ego speaks of what is known. He comments and gives framing, sometimes consoling Id on the reality of the matter "they don't mean to hurt you. It's not as bad as it feels, this is momentary, it was an accident, you're not hurt you're just confused. People change, we'll be fine".

However, just as Ego corrects Id with context, Id corrects him with his own part of the harsh reality.
"Just because it's an accident doesn't change the hurt it caused us. If they ment to love us, why are we in pain. If we are human, why do we feel people treat us like an object, only useful when we do as they want, and tossed aside if we don't. Do YOU even feel like what you say overshadows the harm or joy we experience."

Id and Ego aren't evil and good.
They are frames of reference, an honest acceptance of the self with an honest lens of that which is around me. They balance each other and hold each other accountable. Through Id I confront what I feel, and give validity to emotions and my experience with them. Words like "yes I AM upset. I AM confused. I AM happy. I AM sad. I don't like this. I do like this."

And through Ego I give context and reflect on if this is a true offense, if I am to learn from this, if this is as bad as I think or if it's better or worse.

Id showed up first, Ego appeared later. Ego often mentors Id, walking him through what he feels, but at times Id will remind Ego "I was here before you, and In the end, I'll be here after you. I respect your wisdom, but heed my longevity."

Oh there's also a special 3rd one, he'll be drawn later though.
In summary, he tells the other two to "lock in". That "he doesn't care about what we feel or why we feel it. But what matters is we have something to do and it needs to get done."

The Gift

This one is a foggier Vent piece. I believe it was focused on choice, or more so something involving the divine. I remember a concept of a great mystery, a path in between spaces that led to a deep intimidating unknown.

the option of an infinity possibility, a future that can be pleasant, but its surrounding by such unknown that its intimidation. This one rests a lot on symbolism, lots of different nods to different concepts. like white holes (inverted black hole, it releases instead of consumes), he thrones, prophets, radiant lines, bronze hand, etc etc etc.

some other names for this are "Crossroads" and "Choose you this day"

Another one from the Vent art collection.

This one is focused on cutting ties. cutting away the parts of life that have become weighty, painful. This includes cutting off people, but also (a trend you might notice with my old vent art) cutting out emotions as well. In the sort of story that was formed as i made these pieces, these were the scissors used to cut out the heart for its storage in the silver vessel.

Like the silver vessel, this too was also used as practice for designing and drawing items. had a lot of fun with it and enjoyed the level of relief i felt after I finished it. At some point I wanna paint the heart itself, as it is referenced in various of my vent art pieces.

Another vent piece from years ago.
wanted to draw something related to boxing up emotions, or more specifically for this piece, storing one's heart to detach from its emotions due to them being too strong. Also used this as item design practice haha

I wanted it to look beautiful, a reflection of the self in a way, a trust worthy vessel even. but it's sharp. it always hurts to use it. It's alluring, but wounding. Back then though, It felt easier to just toss those feelings in a metaphorical box and imagine it being consumed by black space until such emotions were necessary again.

We've grown from there though hehe, all emotions serve a purpose, and pain is worth surviving through.

Another piece of Vent Art I did awhile ago.

I believe when this piece was made, I was hurting from a lot of things. People had acted in ways and had done things that damaged me. Not always big things though, more like thousands of paper cuts that never healed and always added up. Then every now and then a deep cut would hit. And I'd shoulder all this pain and mound through it for the sake of both bettering myself and them, to learn from them, as these wounds always came from those I was helping or who asked for my assistance and council. That's why I have the "wise man robe" fit on. It reached a point to where I was in so much mental and emotional pain and stress that I just, turned off my feelings for a time. Symbolically cut out my heart so that no one would get hurt from the inevitable rebound, because no matter how much I'm hurting, I'm still responsible for my actions.

This left me dead inside, lifeless in expression, that is unless I put a mask on so not to cause anyone worry or derail something. When not masking though, I recognized my eyes as dead, and even angry, as the wounds hadn't yet left, even if I boxed my sensitivities.

I felt like a drug. In the sense that I was wanted by people to serve a specific purpose, to use my charm and knowledge to ease their sorrows and make them feel better. A pick me up to crack open and consume. And when said pill didn't do as was told, or didn't respond as was wanted, people would get upset about that and want to toss it away. That's what the barcode on the forehead symbolizes. Something drawn on by another to be considered a product.

The rest of the details of the image are just different things that symbolize me. That I can explain another day

Oh, and Gethsemane symbolizes a moment of deep anguish and suffering.

Though I'm fine now thankfully. This was months ago😅
