On Monday, we said goodbye to our sweet little Mio. 😔
In just a few short months, he would have turned 17… seventeen years of tiny footsteps that somehow filled every corner of my life.
He was always right there beside me. I used to say he was my little heartbeat at my feet — my constant companion, my shadow, my comfort, my joy. Wherever I went, there he was loving me in that quiet, unconditional way.
Mio wasn’t just a dog… he was my heart dog.❤️
Those of you who have been blessed enough to have heart animals know this kind of love — and this kind of loss. We shared so much life together… the big adventures, the road trips, the laughter… but also the quiet moments, the ordinary days that didn’t feel ordinary because he was there for all of it. He was woven into the fabric of my everyday.
And now everything feels so different without him. The house is quieter.
Coco is lost too — she keeps looking for him, waiting for him to come around the corner, and sits so still like she’s listening for something that isn’t there anymore.
My heart is absolutely broken. 💔 I miss him more than words could ever hold.
Thank you, my sweet boy, for a lifetime of love, loyalty, and kisses. You will always be remembered. You will always be loved. And you will always be my little heartbeat at my feet. 💕

We made two beautiful turkeys, one made out of fruit and one made out of sweets. Our friend Bonnie created a phenomenal fruit turkey and my nephew Nicholas had the best time creating the sweet turkeys. We met in 1986 and became friends, never knowing that we were embarking on the greatest journey of our lives.
Somewhere between laughter and late-night talks, friendship turned into love.
On October 9th, 1993, we said ‘I do,’ and it’s been an adventure ever since.
Here we are, all these years later — still laughing, still exploring, still in love.
I am grateful every day to spend this beautiful life with my best friend. ❤️
