I was terrible at reading and writing ❤️

Neurodivergent people can have a different way of seeing the world. It can be a challenge for them and the people around them at times. But there are also so many positives. I honestly don’t believe I would be the artist I am today if it wasn’t for dyslexia ❤️

People don’t always know that autistic people may have co-occurring conditions such as dyslexia, ADHD and dyspraxia as well. It’s dyslexia awareness week and I wanted to bring some attention to it. ❤️

So many artists from art to music to film, could probably fit under the umbrella of neurodiversity, Andy Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Tim Burton, Billie Eilish, Pablo Picasso, just to name a few ❤️

I’m really proud of this piece ❤️

Art almost 70 years of age, I never thought I would be able to create skies like this. All done by hand and pastel ❤️

This is my new limited edition ‘Dawn’ ❤️

One piece of art really connected with me❤️

It got me thinking, had me awake at 2am, and now, a week later, I’m still thinking about it. ❤️

You are not an idiot ❤️

So much in art can be seen to only be for ‘intellectuals’, too many people feel that they can’t ask questions or worried that they might interpret a piece of work incorrectly. There is no right or wrong, there is what you see and how you feel about it. We all bring our own life experiences to art. Yes you can study and learn more. But the idea of right and wrong…is just that…an idea ❤️

Go out and see art in the flesh, see what it makes you feel, what questions does it bring up? ❤️

Three things that make a great piece of art ❤️

For me great art isn’t necessarily about what it looks like, it’s about what it makes me feel ❤️

Do you like the celebrity or the art more? ❤️

For me the art comes first, does it make me feel something? I could not care less how much of a big movie star or singer they are…is there art any good? ❤️

I honestly don’t know Johnny Depp art work very well. Not sure I have an opinion on it. ❤️

Look at the art work, if it speaks to you then it’s good for you ❤️

Come with me to a local art exhibition ❤️

Loved being invited to open the Cleveland art society show. Just incredible to see all these artists coming together, using art to express themselves and be part of the community in Middlesbrough ❤️

Often the focus is on big museums and shows, they don’t always do the most to bring in their local community and make them feel part of the art world. Lots of snobbish attitudes in art that frankly shouldn’t exist ❤️

Support your local artists or be part of a local group. ❤️

Come spend a bit more time at the Turner Prize with me ❤️

I couldn’t fit all of my experience of this exhibition into one video. It gave me a lot to think about and was a great experience. It’s not every day that you get invited to a VIP opening in a museum like this ❤️

I think that no matter what you think of the work in an art gallery/museum. By engaging with it, asking questions, you start to learn more about it and yourself. ❤️

Always good to be home in Middlesbrough ❤️

If you can get to @mimauseful ❤️
