Second assignment with @olliehirstillustration for the @theaoi mentorship.

Made an animated illustration based on a @businessweek article about how everything feels like a scam these days.

Wanted to try doing some animation and with idea being a mirage it felt right to make everything disappear as if it was all too good to be true. Swipe for roughs and everything else.

Thanks for looking!

First assignment with @olliehirstillustration for the @theaoi mentorship.

Gen Z has a different relationship to work and it’s pretty apathetic, made a cover for the @nytmag based on an article about how Gen Z fell out of love with work.

I’ve wanted to try drawing a big building for a while so this felt like a good opportunity. Swipe for roughs and everything else.

Thanks for looking!

Wanted to draw a big pile of stuff and felt that an illustration based on how young people are turning to risky ways to earn money fitted pretty well.

I stole the headline from an article but I like how they put it also mocked it up and a rough version!

One of the best parts of my job is mentoring and I’m so excited to be back launching my 2026 AOI Mentorship!🚀
The scheme had a record 400 applications and @theaoi had some very difficult decisions to make.

✏️✏️This year it’s my privilege once again to guide not one, but TWO talented illustrators, helping them refine their voice and strategic positioning, always with the goal of making work that is out of this world, targeting real world clients & opportunities!

✏️ @gauravvikalp is an illustrator based between India and the UK, working across society & culture. He believes in creating clever and considered solutions that are non-sterile, empathetic and diverse ‘Aha’ moments

✏️ @artjackwp is an English illustrator using textures, bold colours and clear lines featuring unique situations and characters. He works across editorial and commercial with a focus on Gen Z culture, technology, and human relationships

❤️‍🔥Our mentorship has begun and we will be exploring the worlds of editorial, advertorial and commercial over the next 6 months

It’s my fourth year as an AOI mentor! Gaurav & Jack are joining my little prev AOI mentee family of @simbieyau, @lilitmartirosyan_illustrations, @daliabieliunaite & @ilustratoro who I’m SO proud of 🩷

Art directors, commissioners, producers, agents and fellow illustrators, please join Gaurav & Jack on their journeys as they grow their voices with me 👀
Lift off Gaurav & Jack!!🚀 by @artjackwp

Self initiated Illustration based on how young people (and everyone really) faces a competitive job market, which is relatable.

I went with a knight analogy, how applicants can feel like they have to be the prefect honourable knight to impress the fair desk job maiden. SWIPE for spots and mock ups and stuff!

Redo of an old illustration based on how young people due to a number of reasons are struggling to start their lives and move out.

I don’t normally like to redo old ideas but I’m really happy with how this turned out. Swipe cuz I also mocked it up into a spread.

Trying to make creative work is hard and I wanted to make something that relates to the feeling of the outside pressures that try to break that idea apart.

And I mocked it up into a cover because I haven’t done that before and wanted to try it out.

Last Self initiated Illustration based on people stealing TV.

This idea is a dragon with a tie on hoarding shows and gold. I thought it would be fun to do.

Since I drew this a few things have happened that make it feel a bit more relevant. Including Netflix rising prices and a big merger. Which today can make something as simple as TV feel like a luxury and something that the wealthy want to horde and get as much profit and influence from.

Anyway also included the pencil drawing of the final idea.
And I’ve mocked it Mocked it up but I’ll post that later.

Another Self initiated Illustration based on more and more people stealing TV. This idea is a shady guy selling shows from a trench coat. I wanted to try a different size and drew this in a square format. I like the idea but feel it doesn’t look as good as it could, I’m just chalking it up to practice and trying different stuff out.

Mocked it up to see what it would look like.

Self initiated Illustration based on the rise of people stealing TV @verge had a good article about it. I tried a bunch of ideas out and this is the first, people taking to the open waves searching for some channels.

Made a fake magazine for a mock up to see what it would look like.

Also tried some more animation and some of the rough ideas.
