It’s been a week since Art Matters Affordable Art Fair came to a close, and we’re still missing all the energy, the art, the music, the conversations, and the incredible vibe that filled every corner.

From inspiring artists and beautiful discoveries to meaningful partnerships and unforgettable moments ,it was more than an art fair, it was a community coming together.

Here’s a quick glimpse back at everything that made it so special.

Faces in art; love them or leave them?

It’s fascinating how divided opinions can be. Some people love living with portraits, feeling they bring warmth, character, and a human connection into a space. Others prefer abstract pieces or landscapes, finding them more peaceful and timeless.

Neither is right or wrong, it all comes down to personal taste. The art we choose says a lot about how we want our spaces to feel.

So tell us: are you drawn to faces in art, or do you prefer art without them?

من المثير للاهتمام كيف تختلف الآراء حول هذا الموضوع. فهناك من يحب وجود الوجوه والبورتريهات في منزله، لأنها تضفي دفئاً وحضوراً إنسانياً وشخصية مميزة على المكان. وفي المقابل، هناك من ينجذب أكثر إلى الأعمال التجريدية أو المناظر الطبيعية، ويجد فيها هدوءاً وراحةً وإحساساً بالخلود

لا توجد إجابة صحيحة أو خاطئة، فالأمر في النهاية يعود إلى الذوق الشخصي. فالقطع الفنية التي نختارها تعكس الكثير عن الأجواء التي نرغب في خلقها داخل مساحاتنا

Give children spaces to wonder, and they will create worlds of their own !

At Art Matters Affordable Art Fair, we were delighted to see children exploring art, roaming from room to room, asking questions, discovering colors, stories, and inspiration in every corner.

A special appreciation goes to the parents who were able to bring their children along, giving them the opportunity to see, feel, and connect with creativity from a young age. These small moments of exposure often become the beginnings of lifelong curiosity, imagination, and love for art.

حين نمنح الأطفال مساحة للخيال، نمكنهم من تكوين عالمهم الخاص !
أسعدنا كثيرًا أن نرى الأطفال يستكشفون الفن في معرض آرت ماترز. يتنقلون من غرفة إلى أخرى، يطرحون الأسئلة، ويكتشفون الألوان والقصص والإلهام في كل زاوية.

تقدير خاص للأهالي الذين تمكنوا من اصطحاب أطفالهم، ومنحوهم فرصة التواصل مع الإبداع منذ الصغر. فمثل هذه اللحظات الصغيرة من التعرّف والانفتاح قد تكون بداية فضول دائم، وخيال واسع، وحب حقيقي للفن.

Dana Shahzada is a painter holding a degree in fine arts and a master’s in art education. Both a student and teacher of creativity, she focuses on urban art inspired by Jordan’s landscapes and cityscapes. Working primarily in oil, she combines a strong understanding of pigment with a passion for teaching, creating work that explores color, light, and the subtle beauty of everyday life while encouraging a new generation to discover the possibilities of creativity.

Jude Samman is a Jordanian-Syrian artist whose practice explores the relationship between bodies and the earth, and the spiritual dimensions of belonging. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University, Canada, and is currently a resident in the Arts Intensive Study Program (Qatar, 2025–2026).
