I am very weak but with painting I found it very easy: Said Annet, an Uganda Artist by @artolution

Ten years ago the idea was simple: the people who live in a community should be the ones leading the art made there.

Our 2025 Annual Report is here, and it is a picture of what that has grown into.

Inside you'll meet Md. Younus, who went from staying quiet on the edge of camp life in Bangladesh to leading mural sessions for children.

Ruqqayya in Jordan, who found her focus again through clay at Salwa's House. Amos in Kenya, who picked up a brush as a teenager and now runs an arts center for more than a hundred young people in Kibera.

In 2025, 122 local artists led programs that reached nearly 4,700 people directly, and tens of thousands more through public art across 23 countries.

A decade in, the work is carried by the communities themselves. That is exactly what we set out to build.

Hello to our recent and long-time followers.

Our story starts with our founders Joel Berger and Dr. Max Frieder, community artists who joined forces with a mutual vision of spreading change using the universal language of art.

From its humble beginnings, Artolution has expanded across the United States, Jordan, Uganda, Colombia, Bangladesh and beyond. Artolution supports local artists in vulnerable communities to lead public art projects with youth. We provide our teams funding, training and access to a global community to succeed in uplifting their communities.

We believe that local leaders in the arts can make life-changing impacts for the thousands of children and teens they serve each year.

To learn more about how you can support our teams and programs, visit the link in our bio.

We’re thankful for our partners and donors for helping us achieve our vision.

💙

The launch of the “100 years of Kindness” mural working in the Whitman, Public Housing Project in Brooklyn, New York. This is part of the “Painting our futures“ global mural project as one of six countries working with the United Nations population fund to have communities tell their stories for the future of youth from each continent across the globe. Community-based Murals are being painted across Kenya, Colombia, Ukraine, Jordan and Japan by communities telling a global narrative amplifying the voices of youth across the world.

Getting the kids involved!

I always believe that public art is stronger when it connects directly with the community, and the best way to do that is to get people involved in the painting!

On the bottom section of our mural— currently in progress at Eaton DC— over 50 students from Thomson Elementary School have participated in the art making. Once complete, they will get to see their work publicly displayed every day right next to their school 🙌

Thanks to @thedcarts @downtowndcbid @eatonhotel.dc @artolution @marine.arango and Thomson Elementary School 🙏🙏🙏

Painting Our Future!
“Six cities, six walls, one global conversation about what young people want the world to look like. Proud to be part of Painting Our Futures with @artolution and @unfpa_kenya . #SucceedingGenerations”

We started from scratch, bringing youths and artists together to brainstorm, share ideas, and transform a wall into a powerful vision of Kibera’s future.

Through art, young people are expressing their dreams, voices, and hopes while building confidence, creativity, and a sense of ownership in their community.

A big thank you to @artolution , @unfpa_kenya , and Afrocure for making this collaborative journey possible. Together, we are showing the power of youth, art, and collective action to inspire change. by @artolution

Salwa’s House – Azraq Refugee Camp – Artolution

In Their Own Words: Women Reflect on Salwa’s House.

What does Salwa’s House mean to the women who are part of it?

In this video, they share in their own words how being part of Salwa’s House has influenced their emotional well-being and everyday lives.

For them, it is more than a place to learn pottery, knitting, and creative skills. It is a space to connect, express themselves, build friendships, discover their abilities, and find moments of relief from the pressures of daily life.

Their voices tell the story best: a story of creativity, connection, belonging, and the positive impact that a safe and supportive community space can have on well-being.

These are their experiences. These are their voices. This is Salwa’s House.

From ideas to colors, and from dreams to a shared wall. 🎨🌿

At Azraq Refugee Camp in Jordan, young women came together with artists to turn their ideas, dreams, and hopes for the future into a collective work of art.

Built from their own conversations and reflections, the mural connects who they are today with who they hope to become rooted in the strength of generations before them, while growing toward a future where their voices are heard, their creativity is valued, and they can create positive change for themselves and their communities.

Through painting, sharing, and creating together, the wall became a reflection of resilience, belonging, connection, and hope for the generations to come.

Six cities, six walls, one global conversation about what young people want the world to look like.

Proud to be part of Painting Our Futures with @artolution and @unfpa.
