I often wonder why you’re friends with me. I can't quite fathom it but say out loud “This kind and pretty goddess is my best friend”.

I remember our campus day, when you walked 5 km barefoot, heels in your hands (picture 1), just to see me in quarantine and wish me a Happy Diwali. How you always made sure I wasn’t left out, that I was fed well, and that I was happy. How you looked at me with kindness, even when you were mad at me.

Hey, that’s more than what a friend must do.

Distance got tired, seasons bid their goodbyes, again and again, but we have never. And I am still taken aback by the bond this universe chose to place between us.

Today, my gallery seems to be reminding me that all we have are old memories and their lingering sighs. Perhaps it’s time to renew our friendship vows, with selfie spams, voice notes, and new moments to look back on years from now.

Until then, know that I carry these silly and serious moments we shared, a heart full of immense gratitude for you and for the kind of friendship that survives distance, time, and everything in between.

Hey people, I am here to shamelessly flaunt my best friend for a minute. The lady love of my life is beautiful, passionate, an artist, and effortlessly one of the most remarkable people I know. Honestly, I have so much to say about her that fitting it into one Instagram caption feels unfair.
