Simone Christen’s artwork successfully captures the essence and energy of the world around her. Through her mastery approach to color and shapes, she creates art that evokes precisely the emotions she’s feeling when painting it. Hearing about her inspiration helps connect with her art even more.

Some pieces are currently showing @miriamrestaurant West Village. DM in inquire.

“I aim for my paintings to convey a sense of peace and calm”. We sat down with artist Simone Christen, whose Art is now on view at Miriam West Village, and discussed her painting ‘Pond-ering’ with its double meaning.

Winter Breath, SIMONE CHRISTEN
58.75x42.75 in.

Christen’s paintings reflect atmospheres and emotions. In this work, three horizontal shapes-each rendered in varying shades of white, with distinct textures and levels of opacity-emanate a sense of calm, simplicity, and naturalness. The composition invites a clear mind and a feeling of renewal, much like inhaling crisp, clean winter air. Through a focus on delicate nuances, the painting draws attention to the beauty found in small differences within what at first appears uniform.

Currently located @miriamrestaurant West Village (available to view upon request). DM to purchase before it leaves.

Excited to begin our collaboration with @sarabethsnyc, featuring the first display by @shonyrivnay, by @artotb_

Some connections just make sense from the very beginning
@vagabondshoesnyc and @sharonshpitalni , AKA @artotb_ , are the perfect example ,two brilliant minds from the worlds of marketing and interior design who came together to create something truly special: The Art of Blue.

What started as a shared feeling (and a very real question: where do you actually find art you love?) turned into a mission to make art more accessible, and we’re applauding them for it.

They’re reshaping the way we experience art, even in a city overflowing with it.

As they say, Sharon’s mantra is: “It’s not the cards you’re dealt, it’s how you play them,” and they’ve certainly played theirs beautifully.

Anat believes that “If you tell yourself every day that you’re lucky, you start to see the world as if you are, and over time, it becomes your reality.”

Somehow, they make everyone around them feel just a little bit luckier.

A little (not so miniature) gem of creativity, vision, and heart 💙 by @artotb_

Artist Spotlight: Kimberly Witham

Witham’s artworks look like paintings, but are actually photographs shot in natural lighting, with no digital manipulation. She takes inspiration from Dutch still life and Vanitas oil painting and gives it a modern twist, tackling themes of beauty and the impermanence of youth.

Witham’s art is currently showing at Miriam West Village, 140 7th Ave S, New York, NY:
1. Devil in the Details, 36x24in.
2. Let Them Eat Cake, 36x34in.
3. Lily Pads, 25x3in.
4. The Red String, 13.5x11.5in.
5. Luminous Wilt, 13x11in.
6. Mignonne Allons Voir Si La Rose, 12.5x11in.
7. Pink Quince and Deer, 8x6in.

Lily Pads, KIMBERLY WITHAM
25x20in.

Water Lilies, which are usually found in water, are going through “attempted domestication” here and they appear unruly, spilling from their bowl. The water droplets on the wood surface suggest recent disturbance, possible human interaction. The tension between order and entropy, between the domestic setting (vessel, tabletop) and wild nature (organic flow), is a recurring theme in Witham’s work.
