Her body remembers restraint before her mind can question it. She adjusts her laughter, lowers her gaze, and asks for permission in places where freedom once lived without thought.

The colours have darkened. The movements have softened. Her eyes seek approval before they seek the world.

The third look of रिवाज़ captures the quiet violence of control not loud enough to be called oppression, yet powerful enough to teach a woman to restrain herself long before anyone asks her to.

No one asked her to disappear. They only asked her to soften. To be a little quieter, a little gentler, a little more like what was expected.

What felt like adornment slowly became instruction. What looked like beauty quietly became control.

The second look of रिवाज़ explores the beginning of that transformation the moment tradition starts to shape a woman before she realizes she is being shaped.

We stop seeing people as people.
Labels replace names. Categories replace stories.
Racism, bullying, objectification, exclusion different forms of the same act: reducing a human being into something easier to ignore, judge, or harm.
When empathy disappears, violence becomes easier to justify.

Art to Wear wasn’t just a project, it was a dream that each one of the five of us had been holding onto since first year. It started with us and our crazy, almost unrealistic ideas and somewhere along the way, each one of you who joined as volunteers kept adding to it, shaping it, and truly making it possible. 🥹🩷

This wasn’t just behind the scenes… this was everything.
The late nights, the last-minute fixes, the stress, the laughter, and all the little moments in between that made this journey so special. ✨

And to every single one of our volunteers you were the heart of this journey.
Aadya, Aakarsh, Anika, Anjali, Anushree, Arpita, Girish, Guneet, Hazel, Himanshu, Jagriti, Janaki, Kaushiki, Ketki, Nandini, Richa, Riddhika, Rishika, Ritika, Rohan, Rudransh, Samruddhi, Swaranjali, Tanisha, Vaishnavi, Vijaya, Vinayak, Yashika and if we’ve missed anyone, please know you were just as important to us and this journey wouldn’t have been the same without you. 🩷
