🎬 That’s a wrap on our Art Over There IRL event, HANDMADE at The Industry, Cape Town. 🌞 Art on the walls, live poetry, stand-up comedy, live music, fire dancing, LED lights, sculptures, live rug tufting, flash tattoo art, and conversations we are still thinking about. Thank you to every single person who showed up, shared their work, and made the event what it was. And a special thank you to the people who held it all together on the night: 🎀 MC β€” Robyn Dunlop @robyndunlopcomedy, an award-nominated stand-up comedian who kept the night warm, sharp, and moving from start to finish. πŸ’œ πŸŽ›οΈ Sound β€” Mias Lotz @miasisnotreal, session drummer, bassist, and audio engineer with 13 years of live experience who solved more than a few last minute problems under pressure. 🎢 And to our partners β€” Flytrap Tattoos @flytraptattoos, Art Alchemy Collective @art_alchemy_collective, and The Industry @industrybarcafe β€” thank you for being part of it. πŸ™βœ¨ To @drifters_lens for capturing so many beautiful moments from the night! πŸ™ŒπŸ™πŸ“Έ And to @margueritedutoit for the delicious on brand cupcakes πŸ§πŸŒ€πŸ€— Our favourite moment? Watching creatives hold space for each other. The visual artists sitting so attentively through the poetry. The poets laughing hardest at the comedians. The band pulling another singer onto the stage. The family and friends who came to cheer everyone along. The strangers who arrived alone and left with new friends. That’s what Art Over There is all about. 🌈πŸ₯° And lastly, from me β€” Tamsyn. I know I don’t show my face here much, but I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for showing up with your art and your hearts open. It brings me IMMENSE JOY to bring creatives together β€” in one space, online and offline. πŸ₯ΉπŸ€— There is much more to say about the journey of building this app and where we want to take it, but that’s for another day. For now, we’ll be savouring the memories of this event and taking a short break to focus on some coding and app related work but we’ll be back mid July to start planning the next one.
