For Jerika See, arts is something that also encapsulates the silence, intimate moments, and everyday lives that people often overlooked by chasing success. Through her distinct artistic style, seeing things from the bird’s eye view mixed with the architect’s eyes for composition, she turns the most simple moment into a meaningful painting.

This issue also features the ongoing exhibition of Olafur Eliasson, Sansó: Pusong Pilipino as it is on view at the National Museum of the Philippines tackling his life story and artistic journey, and the top picks from the recently concluded ArteFino featuring local artists, creatives, and local finds that can elevate your wardrobe and styling.

What happens when we look at life from a different angle?

In “Life, From Above,” ordinary moments become something more. Viewed from above, familiar scenes—sharing dinner around a table, having tea with friends, or gathering for a game of cards or mahjong are transformed into vibrant compositions that celebrate connection, memory, and togetherness.

Through basic shapes and vibrant colors, Jerika See (@jerikaseeart) turns everyday experiences into pieces of a larger picture. Each table, gathering, and shared ritual becomes a fragment of a memory, reminding us that the seemingly simplest moments are often the ones that ground us and bring us closer to one another.

Like pieces of a puzzle, these moments find their place within the bigger picture of our lives. “Life, From Above” invites us to slow down and reconsider what we often take for granted—to see beauty not only in the extraordinary, but in the everyday.

We often see the world through our own perspectives. Yet, when we pause and look beyond what is familiar, we may discover beauty in the details we often overlook.

With her distinct visual language, Jerika See (@jerikaseeart) transforms the ordinary into moments worth remembering. Through basic shapes, vibrant colors, and playful compositions, she captures the quiet rituals and shared experiences that make everyday life meaningful—from gathering around a table for dinner and enjoying tea with friends to playing cards or mahjong with loved ones.

At the heart of See’s practice is a celebration of togetherness. Across her exhibitions and evolving body of work, See continues to explore the beauty found in everyday life. Her art encourages us to slow down, treasure the present, and recognize the people and moments that shape who we are.

Over the weekend, Art Plus Magazine asked: How long can a surname go?

Apparently, surnames can dictate someone’s future, and sometimes, it steals opportunities for those who take their whole life proving that their passion will someday bring them to the stage they’re trying to reach their whole life.
