#ตามรอยลิซ่า Following in the footsteps of Lisa BLACKPINK & Diana Flipo (etc.) uniquely, since I also cosplayed as an entourage member of Phraya Chiang Tung (Keng Tung ruler)
who came down to pay respect to the Thai King (Rama I the Great) in Bangkok 218 years ago, before returning north in the same year. That’s why we could pass through the ruins of a temple (and 2 temples not burned by the Burmese) in Ayutthaya (the ancient capital)

The outfit was bought from the city of (Tai) Khün people (aka Kengtung etc) in the state of Tai Yai 傣耶 people (aka Shan 掸 State, Myanmar 🇲🇲). The traditional costumes (from different brands) are sold in Thailand as well, since there are also Thai people of Tai Khün & Shan descent, especially in Chiang Rai Province’s Mae Sai District, which is both the district that I interviewed (Dai Ya 傣雅 people) for my thesis & the district that I and my mom started the Kengtung tour last month.
.
- The script on the Shan bags is Shan alphabet (not Burmese, though similar!). On the black bag is Mai-Soong, which means hello!
On the white bag is the word “Tai”!
.
- 5th pic: My “Chiang Saen” fan (bought from Tai Yuan club of Phitsanulok Province, the province where I & mother used to grow up there!
Their ancestors moved from Chiang Saen, now a district in Chiang Rai, the northernmost province of Thailand, as prisoners of war) & the name of Chiangsaen Buddha image of more than 700 years old!

A descendant of Mon ethnic group & prisoners of war of Lao Krang ethnic group in Siam (Thailand)(me) at the event of the historical TV series about the Thai (Siamese, Yodaya = Ayutthaya) prisoners of war in Burma, in which a main character was Mon 😁

Revered as a spiritual landmark of Phrae, this ancient & sacred temple is the most important & most famous temple of this province!
.
The temple’s name is associated with some ethnic minority groups: the Tai Lue & the Lua—the latter being the group shown in the 6th pic 👇🏻
.
“Khun Lua Ai Kom” (ขุนลัวะอ้ายก้อม, w/my fan & bag related to the Lua!)—a great, powerful, high-ranking spirit who serves as the guardian of the entire Phra That Cho Hae site—an area originally inhabited by the Lua people.
.

If prefer not to walk up the stairs, there is an elevator available (for a fee of 50 THB per person for foreign tourists)!

There is a foundation named after the last *Chao Luang* (ruler) of Phrae! 🙏🏻
They continue to use his original title—“Chao Luang Phiriya Thepphawong” (of Saen Sai dynasty), even though the Siamese authorities had stripped him of his rank & reduced him to the status of a commoner (before he eventually passed away in Laos)

RIP Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chookiat Panaspornprasit,
our beloved undergraduate professor, a Middle East expert, and one of the two teachers who wrote recommendation letters for me to pursue a master’s degree 😢
.
จำได้ว่าได้เรียนกับอาจารย์ 3 วิชา คือ COMP POL FGN POLI (ตอนปี 3 เทอม 2) กับ FGN POLI MIDEAST และ SEM REL MIDEAST (ตอนปี 4 เทอม 1-2)
.
เรียนกับอาจารย์สนุกมาก อาจารย์เหมือนจะเป็นคนเข้มงวด แต่จริงๆ แล้วก็เป็นคนใจดี และน่ารักมากด้วย
แม้จะไม่มี A สักตัวเลยใน 3 วิชานั้น แต่อาจารย์ก็เป็นคนนึงที่เขียนจดหมาย recommendation letter ให้ ทำให้เราได้ไปเรียน ป.โท (China Studies) ที่ (ม.เจ้อเจียง) ประเทศจีน
.
ถึงแม้เราจะไม่ได้ไปต่อโททันทีที่เรียนจบ โทก็จบช้าด้วย (ช่วงโควิดด้วย) จบแล้วก็ยังไม่ได้กลับจีนทันที จนได้กลับเมื่อ 2 ปีที่แล้ว ได้ยืมชุดครุยจาก จนท.หลักสูตรมาถ่ายรูป ยังไม่ได้ลง social เลย
แต่อาจารย์เป็นคนนึงที่เราส่งรูปบางส่วนให้ดูก่อน และได้ซื้อของฝากจาก campus เรา เป็นย่ามมหาลัยรุ่นที่ปีก่อนๆ ไม่มี (เหมือนว่าแต่ละปี ของขายจะไม่เหมือนกัน) ไปฝากอาจารย์ด้วย
แม้จะนัดวันเจอกันไม่ลงตัว แต่อาจารย์ก็ให้ที่อยู่สำหรับส่งของฝากไปทันเมื่อปีที่แล้ว โดยเราติดต่อกันใน email และ LINE
.
พอย้อนดูในไลน์ ก็จะเห็นที่เราเคยแสดงความยินดีกับอาจารย์ตามโอกาสต่างๆ (เพราะอาจารย์ไม่ได้เล่นเฟซบุ๊ก) และอาจารย์เห็นชื่อไลน์เราแล้วยังเคยบอก ว่าเราแซ่ภาษาจีนเดียวกันด้วย!
.
พอได้มารดน้ำศพ (เป็นวันเดียวที่เราสะดวกมาด้วย) เลยได้มาเจอหน้าอาจารย์เป็นครั้งสุดท้ายด้วย
ได้ถ่ายรูปทั้งกับเพื่อน IR 65 คือโบ โม เพ้นท์ และพี่ปลาซิว คนดังคนนึงแห่ง IR 63
.
(อ.ชูเกียรติก็เป็นรุ่นพี่ CU IR พวกเรา จบเกียรติหนึ่งเหรียญทองด้วย เคยเป็นนักการทูตด้วย
ละจริงๆ เจอเฟม IR 66 น้องรหัสโม และน้องรหัสบุญธรรมเราคนนึงที่เป็น AFSer POR เหมือนกัน แต่ไม่ทันได้ถ่ายรูปด้วย)
.
รวมถึง อาจารย์วันชัย กับ อาจารย์เอก (คณบดีสมัยเราเรียน) ที่สอนวิชาบังคับคณะพวกเราตอนปีแรกๆ ด้วย!
ตอนจบปริญญา ไม่ได้ถ่ายกับอาจารย์ทั้ง 2 ท่าน เลยได้ถ่ายตอนนี้พร้อมกันทีเดียวเลย

ขอให้อาจารย์ชูเกียรติโชคดี เปี่ยมด้วยปัญญาและความสุข ทั้งทางโลกและทางธรรม ทั้งในปัจจุบันชาติและอนาคตชาติของอาจารย์ ทุกชาติไปนะครับ

Many Thais & tourists are already familiar with Wat Phra Kaew (Emerald Buddha Temple) Wang Luang (in the Grand Palace, of the kings.
I often take Brazilians, etc., there)
.
However, #วัดพระแก้ววังหน้า (“前宫玉佛寺”) “Wat Phra Kaew Wang Na” (in the Front Palace, of the vice kings), considered to be less than 200 years old, has only recently opened to the public (my ancestors probably never even visited!),
by the Fine Arts Department until Sep. 20th only.
(The famous narrator in pic. 4 is really cool!)
.
That is, Thailand still has a king, but no longer a viceroy, as the system of crown princes has been used instead (since ≈ 140 years ago)
.
1.)
In the future, we may meet again in “Suddhāvasa Brahma World” (if attained the Anagami stage but not yet the Arhat stage, & before one of us attains Nirvana)
.
But for now, we can visit Suddhāvasa on Earth here #WatBowonSathanSutthawat วัดบวรสถานสุทธาวาส“博温沙坦苏塔瓦寺”
.

Wang Na was once the palace of several Khmer princesses, as well as one princess from Lampang, who served as consorts of the 1st vice king of this Thai dynasty.
.
So, I wore a Lampang-themed outfit!
Along with Lanna script (on my shirt!),
.
so that people don’t forget, especially since Lampang didn’t become a separate country (like Cambodia), Tai-Yuan script like this should be found here & throughout Thailand (not just Central Thai script) 🤩
.

I invited a replica of Phra Kaew (the Emerald Buddha, from my house) to take pictures at #WatPhraKaewWangNa
My friend Tle liked & said, “You’re awesome!” 55555
But Phra Kaew that used to be in Wang Na isn’t green, & is currently in the same room as the real green Phra Kaew in Wang Luang!
.
I see this temple regularly when working as the van passes by.
It has murals relating the Laotians (pics. 5-6), the Thais (pic. 7), & the Mons (pic. 8).
As a descendant, I’m especially happy about that!
.
This place was also used to enshrine the remains of several important royal figures (the red base in pic. 2).

ลง content “วันช้างโลก” 🐘🌏 (12 ส.ค. ตรงกับวันแม่ของไทยนั่นแหละ) ย้อนหลัง
(อ้ะอย่างน้อยยังเป็น เดือนช้างโลก)

ด้วยรูปกับช้างกะเหรี่ยง เอ๊ย ช้างยวน เอ๊ย ช้างไทย #ElefantesNaTailândia ! (ซึ่งจริงๆ แล้ว “วันช้างไทย”ก็มีนะ แต่คนละวัน เพราะตรงกับ 13 มี.ค.)
เมื่อ 2 ปีที่แล้ว ตอนไปเทรนไกด์ที่เชียงใหม่กัน

This month, August, has a World Elephant Day (which was on the 12th, coinciding with Mother’s Day in Thailand).
So I posted these pictures with Thai elephants from 2 years ago, when I was training as a northern tour guide with some colleagues
(another nice foreign tourist, we didn’t know her, she just happened to be on the same round as us 😆)

An installer for some curtains in both our new house & main house happened to be a school friend & a friend of some friends! 🤩😎 #SW2
(So I got a discount, haha!)
After the curtains installation was finished, I got to take some pictures with this Christian friend.

ยอด ม.ต้นอยู่ห้อง 12 (312) ส่วนอาร์ท ห้อง 2 (302) คณะสีเดียวกัน (จามจุรี สีชมพู ชั้น 6)
.
ม.ปลาย อยู่ห้อง 10 (610 สายวิทย์ คณะนนทรี สีเหลือง) ส่วนเรา ห้อง 2 (602 ตอนก่อนไปแลกเปลี่ยน คณะราชาวดี สีเขียว คนละตึกกันเลย)
.
ซึ่งทั้งห้องตอน ม.ต้น กับ ม.ปลาย ของยอด เป็นห้องที่เรามีเพื่อนอยู่น้อยทั้งคู่ เลยไม่ค่อยคุ้นเคยกับ 2 ห้องนี้อยู่แล้ว (ยิ่งเมื่อเทียบกับห้องอื่นๆ)

ตอนช่างมาดูบ้านครั้งแรก วันพุธของสัปดาห์ก่อนหน้า แม่อ๋อยได้คุยได้ถาม จนรู้ว่าเป็นเด็กสตรีวิทยา ๒ เหมือนกัน และน่าจะรุ่นไล่เลี่ยกัน พอถามแล้วก็รุ่นเดียวกันจริงด้วย #35ณ53
แล้วยอดก็บอกว่า คุ้นหน้าเราอยู่!
เราก็นึกออกว่าคุ้นหน้ายอดแล้วเหมือนกัน!

แล้วก็ไปหยิบหนังสือรุ่นของทั้ง ม.ต้น และ ม.ปลายมาเปิดให้ดู ว่าคนนี้ใช่มั้ย ใช่ๆ
(จริงๆ เราไม่ได้จบ ม.ปลายพร้อมกัน เพราะอาร์ทไปแลกเปลี่ยนก่อนมาซ้ำ แสดงว่าช่วงปลาย ม.6 ยิ่งไม่เห็นกัน แต่อาร์ทสั่งซื้อหนังสือรุ่น 35 ที่ตัวเองไม่ได้จบพร้อมด้วย
และสุดท้ายยอดน่าจะจบ ป.ตรีรุ่นเดียวกัน แม้คนละที่ เพราะเห็นว่าซิ่วจาก วิศวะ มศว มาบริหาร ABAC)

แล้วเราก็คุยกันว่า รู้จักใครบ้างในห้องเรา ห้องเขา รวมถึงห้องอื่นๆ และรุ่นน้อง สนุกสนานกันใหญ่ 555
แล้วพอเราเล่าว่าแถวบ้านเรา บ้านนั้นบ้านนู่นก็เด็กสตรีวิทย์ (แต่เขาไม่รู้จัก) แฟนยอดก็เรียกว่า หมู่บ้านสตรีวิทย์ 555

วันนั้น Fri. 03/07/2569 (2026) หลังช่างมาติดบ้านกันแล้ว ก็เลยขอถ่ายรูปด้วยกันซะหน่อย
ร้านที่แม่เลือกนี่ เป็นร้านเดียวกับที่เคยให้มาติดม่านบางส่วนของที่บ้านหลัก ร่วม 10 กว่าปีก่อนได้
แต่ตอนนั้นแม่ยังไม่เจอคู่นี้ คงเพิ่งมาทำ เพราะเป็นกิจการของครอบครัวยอดอยู่แล้ว

ร้านชื่อ “เอส ดีไซน์ ผ้าม่าน (SdesignCurtain)” ใน Google Maps อยู่บนถนนโชคชัย 4 เลย แนะนำเลยครับ มีหลายแบบ หลายสี ให้เลือกเยอะมากกกก บริการดี มีประสบการณ์สูงด้วย

The 24th or 25th day of the 6th month according to the Chinese lunar calendar, which is understood to correspond to this month (July), is the Yi ethnic group’s Torch Festival (“农历六月二十四或二十五是彝族的火把节”)
So, I posted these pics I took with the Yi people in 1 of their towns last year.

The Yi (彝, ชาวอี๋, หยี, Nusoicacas, “โล-โล”, “Lolo people”) are a minority (& a Sino-Tibetan) ethnic group found in several southern provinces of China (& to a lesser extent in Vietnam).

“Ninglang Yi Autonomous County”
宁蒗彝族自治县 หนิงลั่ง อี๋จู๋ จื้อจื้อเซี่ยน (寧蒗彝族自治縣; ꆀꆿꆈꌠꊨꏦꏱꅉꑤ, nip lat nuo su zyt jie jux dde xiep)
= อำเภอปกครองตนเองชนชาติอี๋ หนิงลั่ง
ภาษาจีนแต้จิ๋ว (Teochew) กับ จีนกวางตุ้ง (Cantonese) คงออกเสียงประมาณว่า
เหล่งหลัง อี่จ๊ก จื่อตี่กุ่ยง์ กับ เหน่งลอง หยี่จก จีจียูน ตามลำดับ

We actually went near the Sichuan province border, which is adjacent to this county! (Stay tuned for photos!)
Because #Ninglang has tourist areas, like the 2nd pic where I took with our Yi driver (in black) & our Naxi (น่าซี another ethnic minority!) guide (in blue).
.
Other pics (some with the name“Ninglang”, some with Yi ethnic clothing, some with Yi characters) weren’t actually part of the original itinerary of this trip, but they stopped along the way to find a restaurant for “จ้าจึ๊““เชอเว่อจึ๊” (“eat rice” & “lunch” in the Yi language!)

So we got to see areas that aren’t the main tourist spots, & got to see more of the real local way of life!
And that’s not just local Han Chinese, like in most cities in China, but also local Yi Chinese! 🤩
