📍 SFMOMA, San Francisco

📅 October 3, 2026 – February 7, 2027

"RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me" is now on view at @sfmoma, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Curated by RM with SFMOMA co-curators América Castillo and Hyoeun Kim, the exhibition brings together nearly 200 works from RM’s personal collection and SFMOMA’s collection, creating unexpected connections between Korean and international art across different generations, cultures and artistic practices.

This is the first museum exhibition dedicated to presenting works from RM’s personal collection, and many of these works are being exhibited publicly in the United States for the first time.

I’m very happy to share this first look at the exhibition with you, and to begin exploring Between You and Me from my own perspective.

I hope you’ll have the chance to see it for yourself, and perhaps find your own connections along the way 💜

This is a post I’ve been meaning to make for a while, especially after receiving so many personal messages and kind words from you over the past few months.
It means a lot to know that this project has also made you curious about the person behind @arts.withnamjoon. So I thought it was finally time to introduce myself and share a little of the story behind this space.

And yes, I still smile when I receive messages meant for Namjoon 😂 I’m only sorry to disappoint those who think he’s the one reading them. If I could, I’d definitely make sure he got to read all your beautiful words.

So, I guess it was finally time to introduce myself. It’s nice to meet you all, I’m Claudia 💜

E sì, mi fa ancora sorridere ricevere messaggi indirizzati a Namjoon 😂

My first stop in Seoul had to be Gallery Jiwooheon 💙

This gallery holds a special place in my journey. It was the first Korean gallery I collaborated with, so visiting it in person was a particularly meaningful moment.
A special thank you to curator Kim Areum for welcoming me so warmly and showing me around. She even took me to a private area where RM had taken one of his photos.. such a thoughtful gesture and a lovely memory to take home.

Located in Bukchon, Gallery Jiwooheon brings contemporary art into dialogue with the architecture of a renovated traditional Korean house. During my visit, it was hosting 2 Moons (August 5 – September 12, 2026), a two-person exhibition by Kim Bokyung and Seo Minjeong, exploring the relationship between everyday reality, memory and perception.

Thank you Kim Areum for making my first gallery visit in Seoul so special. I hope to come back soon! 💙

Continuing my conversation with America Castillo, co-curator of RM x SFMOMA.

In Part 2, we talk about the curatorial process behind the exhibition: how personal connections and visual dialogues shaped the selection of works, and the challenges of bringing a private collection into a public museum space, where accessibility and inclusivity are essential considerations.

Thank you again America for sharing your insights! 🩵🤎

It’s Halloween time! 🎃

I thought it would be a good opportunity to explore a theme from Korean art and folklore, starting with an artwork from Namjoon’s collection.

A little Halloween-inspired cultural discovery, with a closer look at a subject that has an interesting place in Korean tradition 🐅

You don’t need an art background to walk into a museum.

Sometimes, curiosity starts with an artist you already love. And sometimes, it leads you to discover artists and artworks you never knew existed.

For me, that’s one of the most valuable things about RM x SFMOMA: it can be a starting point, an invitation to explore something new, and to experience art in your own way.

Because museums should be places where everyone feels welcome, no matter where their curiosity begins 💙
──────────────

The Pinacoteca de São Paulo stood out for two contemporary installations by Brazilian artists Luana Vitra and Gui Teixeira.

Their works reflect two different approaches to contemporary art: one explores the histories and meanings carried by materials, while the other focuses on participation and collective creation.

📍 Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, San Telmo, Buenos Aires, Argentina

📅 April 2026 – February 2027

Founded in 1956, the Museo Moderno is dedicated to modern and contemporary art, with a particular focus on Argentine artistic production and its dialogue with international art.

Océano interior brings together art, science and ecology to explore the ocean, its ecosystems and the impact of human activities on the marine environment.
During his visit, Namjoon shared Midnight Zone (2024), a video work by French-Swiss artist Julian Charrière that explores the little-known world of the deep sea and the environmental challenges it faces.
