The IFF Storytellers Summit is a day of learning, professional development, and connection for filmmakers and creatives at all stages of their careers.

This year's theme, Making the Work. Building the Career., explores both the craft of filmmaking and what it takes to navigate, grow, and sustain a creative career.

The day will feature an opening panel discussion, practice-based workshops led by working professionals, and opportunities to connect with community partners offering resources and opportunities for creatives.

Whether you're developing your first project or continuing to grow your practice, come build your skills, expand your connections, and move your work forward.

Have a story idea you cannot stop thinking about? It is time to get it on the page. ✍️🎬

Join screenwriter and director Meg Swertlow @meggbot3000 for *STOP THINKING AND START WRITING*, a fast paced, hands on screenwriting workshop at the **IFF Storytellers Summit**. Writers of every experience level are welcome, from curious beginners to seasoned pros.

Through a series of prompts focused on character and dialogue, participants will write, share their work aloud, and receive feedback from Meg. By the end of the session, you can walk away with the first draft of your very own microshort!

Meg has directed nine short films and a comedy pilot, with work featured at more than 70 film festivals, including Austin Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, and FrightFest UK.

Consent belongs in every part of the creative process. 🎥

At the IFF Storytellers Summit, intimacy professional and choreographer Emily Barasch @emilybthatsme will lead Boundaries, Intimacy, & Consent, an essential workshop for filmmakers and artists working with intimacy, nudity, violence, or other sensitive content.

Drawing from her experience across film, television, theater, and dance, Emily will share practical approaches to establishing boundaries, communicating with performers, and creating safer working environments. The session will also explore the responsibilities of an Intimacy Coordinator, SAG guidelines and protocols, nudity riders, and chains of reporting on set.

Join facilitator Jessica Getman for Sweetening the Screen: The Functions of Music in Narrative Film, a hands on workshop at the IFF Storytellers Summit! Explore how music shapes emotion, meaning, and audience interpretation through concepts like diegetic and non diegetic music, leitmotifs, and the audiovisual contract.

You’ll put those ideas into practice by rescoring a film scene and transforming its emotional and narrative impact with a new soundtrack. 🎶

You heard that right! Arts Avenue is hosting a Fall 2026 Student Exhibition in partnership with San Bernardino City Unified School District's Expanded Learning. The exhibition will showcase student art work from 8 elementary schools. The students and instructors are extremely excited to share with you what they have been creating this semester.

The theme? Fashion!

📣 OPEN CALL: 2027 ESTUDIO AIRE ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE

Applications are now open for the 2027 Estudio Aire at San Bernardino cohort!

Estudio Aire is a two-month studio residency supporting emerging artists across all artistic disciplines. Four artists will be selected for residencies taking place between April and November 2027.

Selected artists receive:

✦ Dedicated studio space with 24/7 access
✦ $1,000 artist stipend
✦ Mentorship and support from the Estudio Aire Curator
✦ Opportunities to engage the community through Public Happenings

Artists may develop new work, continue existing work, conduct research, or explore a new phase of their creative practice.

Please note: Estudio Aire at San Bernardino is a work-in residency and does not provide housing or overnight accommodations.
