Did you know, one of the reasons Winston-Salem is so cool is because we have numerous non-profits giving back to our community members? Arts District of Winston-Salem (ADWS) was formed just for that reason- to give back and lift up. We’ve worked really hard to put our best foot forward through professional branding, passionate board members, and vigorous fundraising. In three short years we’ve infused over $80k back into our creative community! Needless to say- we stay active. With that said- we as an organization see that there’s a little confusion around what the organization is and what exactly we do/what we can realistically do given bandwidth and funding. We hope that this post is informative for anyone feeling a little unsure. We’ve seen the concern and feedback in regard to ART CRUSH and want to provide more clarity and to understand why we’re making this shift. Not to take away from the community, but to be able to give back further to the community with more time, intention and care. As always- we are here for you Arts District and we look forward to seeing you all out in the district! ⭐️ by @artsdistrictwsnc
✨Dash Bash: Arts & Innovation Expo Arts Vendor Spotlight Curated by @artcrush_wsnc ✨ We're excited for our partner, @artsdistrictwsnc to be curating an amazing selection of vendors for Dash Bash! Learn more about some of their artists below. ✨Have.A.Flower (@h.a.f695 )- H.A.F(for short) is an art brand derived from the pastime and phrase “stop and smell the roses”. Through colorful abstract characters, patterns, and texture I hope to provoke joy and inspire creativity in those who view my art. So Have.A.Flower and take a moment to be still and enjoy :) ✨Otavio Albuquerque LLC (@otaviosantosart )-Independent illustrator and multidisciplinary artist. ✨Thrift to Thread -I upcycle thrifted clothing into one of a kind wearable art. I partially like working with well loved t-shirts and converting that super soft worn in fabric into other items like skirts. Check out these vendors & more on October 10th at Truist Stadium! by @artsdistrictwsnc
Witch hats encouraged. A little curiosity will do, too. 🎃 The Downtown Witches Walk & “The Other” Salem Night Market returns to Winston-Salem’s Arts District on Friday, October 23, from 6–10 p.m. for a free evening of costumes, local shops, and Halloween fun. Follow the scavenger hunt from CasaShanti, collecting letters at participating businesses to solve a secret word and enter the raffle. Along the way, browse artists, makers, and vintage vendors, with live entertainment, trick-or-treating, and pumpkin activities rounding out the night. Bring your friends, bring the family, and give that costume an outing before Halloween. Kids and pets are welcome! Head to the link in our bio for our Witches Walk preview and start planning your evening. #VisitWinstonSalem #WitchesWalk by @artsdistrictwsnc
